another kill, this time on a real sports car

On my way back from work and this kid from school calls me up, he asks me if i want to race and i'm like sure why not.

His car

1994 mustang cobra pace car, drop top, manual, all stock

my car

03 auto cl-s all stock

so we meet up at the place wheer i do all my races, its the best place, no one goes there and you cant get caught.

we line up and go at it and both of us peel out alot and then when we both grip the road i pull ahead of him and put 1-1.5 cars on him to 80. we only did one run cause he had to go, but i have no clue how many hp his car has, hopefully pull t can help me out on what his car runs in the 1/4 so i know if i beat the car or the driver. its soo funny how nobody at school thinks my car is fast then when i race them they are like damn bro, i didnt know your car was that fast, lol, they will learn not to fuck wit me sooner or later

btw, i'm goin to the track tommorw to erase that shitty 15.2 from my sig, i'll let yall know what i run tommorw

5 liter OHV motor (quoted 245hp/285tq)
6.3 0-60 (FOR WHAT THAT'S WORTH)
Well driven, 14.3-14.5 stock

As with any 5 liter Mustang, it is within the reach of you guys, if stock.

Really not that big of a power increase over a standard GT, basically the same motor with an upgraded intake. The real upgrades are 13" front brakes and better suspension (thicker sways and better stuts)

There were 1000 convertibles made in 1994, all red and they came with a "Indy Pace Car" sticker package that was either applied by the dealer at the choice of the owner.

You beat him because he drove it poorly.

I know I wouldn't feel comfortable breaking out the rolleyes until I moved out of the 15 sec (aka family car/minivan) class.....but that's just me.

i had no idea minivans were runnin anywhere in the 15's these days, which ones? don't really keep up with minivan specs too much.
i also wasn't aware of hp increase in 94 50's, thought they were the same motors as in 88-93. actually weren't they the same motor until the 46's replaced them. if so those were rated at 225hp.

94-95 mustangs are garbage..they're the slowest mustangs made, even slower than the older 5.0's. The best year Cobra in my opinion is the 96-98 cobra's. those things are beasts. race against one of those and your done...nice kill though

Actually 94-95 were 5.0s, they were considerable better than the early non-Cobra 4.6s. My old 95 GT Convertible was actaully pretty quick. I could kill the 96-98 4.6s even though I had the heavier vert.

Thats for the non-Cobra engines. The Cobra engines got the GT40 iron heads and Cobra cast intake. They were rated at 245, but were actually a little under rated. Low 14s was the norm for the 5.0 Cobras.

BTW, good kill, you definately out drove this guy, over and over again.

I concur with everything Dave has to say here.

And it's rare to find an unmodded 5.0 these days. I have been humbled many a time by them. This one being a "rare" model prolly has a lot to do with it's bone stock status.

I was being facetious.

I was just trying to convey that a 15 second car is nothing to boast about TOO much.

What are you talking about.....The 94-95 was a 5.0, which was faster than the earlier 4.6 modulars. A 96-98 Cobra is as fast as a 99+ GT stock for stock.

As Pull quoted: The 94 Pace car Cobra was rated at 240/285. I'm not sure what he means by OHV ?? The 5.0 is a pushrod motor. Good info anyway.

Not sure what you're talking about either. In 96 the 5.0 motor was discontinued in both the Cobra and the GT. The 5.0 motors may have more torque, but overall the DOHC 4.6 motor is much better.

By the way, that new 350Z is a smokin car. I saw one run in the high 13's at the track a few weekends ago and it only had 500 miles on it. Not sure that I would do that, but it was cool to watch.

OHV = Overhead Valve (i.e. pushrod)
