Wood?

What is that peice of wood doing there? Was that done by the rescue workers? Impaled by a guard rail... aren't those things supposed to be secured on each end?

The car spun and slid backwards into the guardrail, thats why it took out the pole holding the rail on with the back bumper. The guardrail went through the car from the back. Makes me sick just thinking about it.

That would looks like the post that the guard rail anchors too.

Some guardrails also have slightly curled ends. Depending on what speed you hit it at and what angle, it won't take much to puncture your frame, once it's through, it'll slice EASILY. This is the second wreck I've seen like this. First was an integra or another kind of import, don't recall that one.

Well the guy couldn't have been too smart... He had those dumb white wheels, and clear taillights. Darwinism at work.

Yikes, wierd to see my screen name next to the words Horrible fatal accident.

This same type of accident happened in california a while back, what a fucked up way to go.

My thoughts and prayer with the family.

I'm fine and plan on staying fine and driving safer

Can we please lay off the fatal accidents posts?

EVERY FREAKING DAY IN AMERICA LOTS OF PEOPLE DIE IN FREAKING CAR WRECKS!!!

Its a fact of life, that I dont' wish to be reminded of every time I come to a message board. If its someone we know from the boards that another thing, but lets not make a habit out of posting every bad car wreck that happens.

JMHO, YMMV....

The Passenger seat area was badly hit with the gaurd rail, but the dirver seat area seems okay, the guy died, but looking at the pictures, he should have a chance to make it....

What contributed to his death? was he eject from the car, I saw an air bag and nothing catastrophic in the driver seat....

Comments?

from the news article:

The end of the metal guard rail pierced the trunk of Tomaszewski's sporty red Eclipse, impaled the right side of the driver's body and shot out the windshield, police and fire officials said.

Yeah, you really gotta change that subject/title. I've sent Ernie and email and hadn't heard from him (granted it's been a day or two) then I read this......!

The world is already is a sem-sorry state right now....it's not a good time to start losing friends [early], as if any time is "good".

Yep. At the risk of sounding morbid, according to the NHTSA there were 37,409 fatal auto crashes last year. (That's about 104 a day.)

This is reality. Drive like an idiot and you will pay a price. I think we need more posts like this to keep reality in check for alot of people. That hit home when I say those pictures of that guy. He had a life a good one at that and it ended doing something stupid. What's the point? Who was he trying to impress?

I'd like to second the request for not posting these sort of things. On an average year 40 to 50 thousand people succumb to motor vehicle related accidents in this country alone. It would in all honesty considering our current war with terrorists aircraft accidents etc. be a good thing if we could all avoid these topics and try to get into the spirit however difficult of the holidays. Thanks everybody and havce a good holiday season.Jens

exactly what i was thinking.. he prob also thought he had tranformed his tin can into a formula 1 car or something.. the point is that too many people have too much confidence in their abilities and then their talent runs out and you get junk like this.. it looks like he spent some money on his car, new wheels, etc, etc, but who wants to bet he spent $0. on driver training.. and i'm thinking the same happened with that guy in the cl-s..

now there is talk of supercharging the cl-s, etc?!? the last thing this cars need is more ways to make it lose control.. u wanna be fast? go take some classes and do some auto-x.. you'll be amazed how fast ur normal car with driver improvements..
