Lately when I turn on my headlights, the passenger side either lights up or doesn't. When this first started happening, I found that by disconnecting the cable from the ballast and reconnecting it made it light up. Now that doesn't help anymore when it doesn't light up (only worked like 3 times). Now the other thing is that when it decides to light up, the drivers will go on immediately while the pass one takes a second or 2 longer and then flashes 2 or 3 times before it stays steady. Now when I turn it on and it does light up (right away or eventually), there is a buzzing sound almost like a high pitched whine coming from it for I'd say about 5-10 seconds.

Now my question to you guys is: That whine that I hear, is it the Ballast/igniter going bad? or is it the bulb?

Oh and I didn't try swapping the bulbs yet as it is an intermittent problem.

 

...if I have my lights on, then lock the car (auto turn off), then unlock the car, i can hear the minute whining sound, that is the ballast (talked to an Acura stealership mechanic). Your bulb might be ready to go out. Change out both at the same time so you don't have different colors.
