Another coin problem

Well, like most of the others here, I finally lost some coins. The only problem is that they fell WAY down past the OBD connector.

I talked to my Dealer (Los Gatos Acura in California) and they said they could take apart the console (at my expense) but that they don't have a better coin holder. I read on some old posts that there was a better design.

Anyone here actually get thier dealer to replace an '01 coin holder with something better. Also, any chance these coins will cause a problem (other than be annoying as hell). I plan to try to fish em out with some gum on a straw, but Im not sure if I will be able to find them all.

it has happened twice to me, the first time it just went away a month or so later. the second time the dealer fixed it for free and left the quarter (i think) on the shift plate.

I had the same problem with mine and went to my dealer in plesaton and they asked for $ 60 to fix.....they said they used to do it for free but then too many people asked for the fix, now they need to charge ppl.....since this is what they claim to be due to driver's carelessness ( should not fill the holder all the way full).

$60 to fix ......i learned to live with it.

The coin holder it the ashtray thats not an ashtray.

The cup holder makes for a good coin holder.

But I would not use any of them to hold coins because either way coins wind up inside your car somewhere.

The 2003 has a little “flap” over the back of the coin tray that pretty much prevents the coins from falling down there.
I don’t remember that being on my 2001.
Unless this is a Manual Tranny thing, maybe you could buy the 2003 insert.

I also keep that little cleaning rag for the NAVI screen on top of the loose change and I have never lost a single coin.
