Angel Eyes?

is it really possible to do in our cl? i want to have it done on the high beam coz of the output decrease. i want to leave my low beams the way it is and so that sometimes if i want to show off the angel eyes i could just turn on my high beams.
i dont need projectors right? anyone know where i can have this done prefferably local in ny or maybe nj. thanks.

you can have it done around the hibeams but it's more of an oval shape than a circle. there's a 3rd gen tl guy which did it on his looked good the thread title is something like million dollar head lights.

i've also seen it on a Subaru legacy and it looked good, like its oem

i've also seen it on the IS, not so good.. doesn't look good.

for our cars, if you wanted to do it on the low-beams you'll have to retrofit projectors....

I got this page from the 2nd gen TL forum it's a DIY on how to make them yourself.

http://www.geocities.com/jvxdriver/eagle_eyes.htm

The actual process seems pretty easy I just don't have enough time and the will to do it.

I dont think it would be that great looking with the headlights on, but alone would look good IMO. If i were to do it i would hook it up to a switch

they wire it to the footwall, main power source... so once they unlock the doors they're on, when its day time, they're on, when the headlights are on they are on as well.

well thats y i wanted to have them on at the highbeam, so i can still have the stock look and whenever for show i could just turn the angel eyes on too or have them both on, coz having the angel eyes decreases the output light anyways so its wouldnt be that much brighter, like if i had the regualr highbeams on.

or can i get those infiniti q45 projectors installed in the cl?

thanks again guys for all info.

try contacting someone from here. UMNITZA.COM they're always coming out with new kits and might help guide you into retro-fitting AEs into the CL headlight

I think there was a member here a few years back that did this project. I could be wrong and that member may have only done projectors. I'm not sure but what I do remember was thinking that the projector headlight did not work too well with our cars. I'll do a search to find it.

Q45 Projector Retro-Fit

You can't really do a projector retrofit with the Q45 projector. I bought a pair of them and planned on doing the Q45 projectors where the low beams are. They are too large and with the angles inside the headlight fixture they would have to be almost flush mounted to the back of the housing. The Q45 projector with bezel and everything is huge and would jut out too far back and you'd have to cut way too much of the reflector to do this even. Also its a bi-xenon projector and would be a mess to wire, especially if you wanted functional lights in the high beam location and angel eyes. I purchased and planned on installing some stanley projectors with a E46 shroud and angel eyes. I soon realized wiring up the low and high bi-xenon Q45 would be hard enough let alone then keeping the projector highs with angel eyes would be even more difficult. You might be able to do this kind of retrofit with alot of exspensive custom work, but this would be way beyond your average retrofit. You'd probably need to have them either automatic self-leveling or with manual controls which would cost even more and be even more complex. If you'd like to try though, I could probably hook you up on the parts I still have.

you can go with smaller projectors in diameter, i suggest doing it where the low beams are already. it can look good if you find the correct bezels and do it right. i have been thinking of doing it in the future, not sure if i will go through with it since i want it to look as oem as possible. i suggest the tsx projector which is very very popular. great cut off line and inexpensive for a pair. $130 easy. i say you will spend around $200ish if you diy
