So we have 97 people so far that voted "YES", plus we have someone who donated their car for the first set. When can we expect an order form?

First off Adam thanks for setting this up. I saw this and got so excited that I skipped reading most of the thread. So I hope the buy is still on. Scuff plates a possibility it is?,,,YEAH! First thing I notice when opening the door. Solid looking

Hope it happens.

PS: Could someone please hit me with an email ( ikant@optonline.net) if its time to send cash or something since logging in here has been waaay sporadic for me lately. :'(

Okay guys...four announcements and replies...

First, I want to let you guys who asked know about shipping...shipping for the sills should be about $10 max, with an extra $5 for Canada. Yes that is all 50 states, including Hawaii...(how do they get a car out to you anyway? Float it on its wheels? )

Second, and this is important...I will be out of town from Saturday through Thursday...so no updates or anything from me until Friday...so if you guys could hold off your questions or whatever till then to post I would appreciate it...I wouldn't be so behind later.

Third, I found out about protection for the chrome...Jeff is looking into clearcoats and Xpel, so we'll see what we can do in that department. It may be offered as an option for those that want it.

Fourth and finally, Jeff has been a bit confused as to who Gator CL-S was...hopefully this is all figured out...as I told him Thursday, and he should be able to go in for measurements soon.

Now on to the replies...I've been so damn sick and gotte so behind I know this'll take me awhile...but before I do that I want to mention this very cute little Smilie I saw entitled "wack it"...dare I ask who added this (Adam, you sick perv!)

:wackit:

And on that note...on to the replies...

nabster:
Not a problem...I was just picking on you for making me work my arse off...

jtree007:
If Gator CL-S has trouble I will definitely let you know! Thanks!

soopa:
You're dead on about the prototype for fitment etc. We want to make sure they fit...then engrave them. I assume you guys want Acura font...but it's really up to the majority here...since I don't have a CL I don't even have a vote...but don't worry this'll come soon.

Also your reply,
"but i could probably have the aluminum cut so that I could integrate the indiglo components myself... maybe i will do that and sell them at a later point... as well as post directions on how to do it yourself and allow you to order a blank sill. "
Is dead on...that's what I told the TLers to do...do a pumpkin type cutout of the letters (only the edges) and then indiglo tape under...easy as crap to do honestly.

And thank the lord you've answered most of these soopa or I'd be toast!

madmax-cl:
"When can we expect an order form?"
Do you really want to order before we even know what they look like or if they fit? As I assume your answer is no, it'll be after the previous two conditions are met...a few weeks .

That looks like it for now...I'll update again hopefully Friday...thanks for replying to them soopa, hold down the fort for me! Cheers all,

Austin519

Okay guys...sorry for the wait here...I know I said Friday, and I know it's Sunday...I got a little backed up building some people's computers. Anyway let me first give you guys an update...then do individual replies.

First again I want to say sorry...I got seriously backed up. I tried calling Jeff Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and didn't get him. I did leave messages, and I will be talking to him on Monday. Honestly this is the time where I'm not going to have much to say. They have it in the shop...they're in the process of scanning it in and making a prototype copy...which Gator CL-S will try out on his CL to see if they fit and how they look. Once he does, then we'll take orders and get them all shipped to you guys. So I will keep reading the thread and replying...but I probably won't have much new stuff to say for awhile. I'm thinking we should have the proto in 2 weeks or less.

Second thing...saying count me in etc on this thread is great...especially when I try to start taking orders...but I'm checking the numbers of the poll for the most part...so PLEASE vote in that poll guys!

Now on to those replies...I don't think there will be many...

sabasCL:
That's as low as it gets man...I can't get it any lower...that's their wholesale price.

Wow...I guess that was it...I think everyone else just wanted an update. I'll have something for you guys Monday...and hopefully soon pics of the metal if my samples ever come in.

I am sure that depending on the design of these sills, .. certain tweaks (such as puttin very tiny bulbs in the lettering gaps and hooking them up to the same fuse that causes the dome lights to turn on when the doors are opened) could be made to put some back-lighting on these too

heres a soso pic

I would probably be interested in sills for the 1st gen. Cl. I would have to see them before I buy them. Lighted would be awesome! Here is a pic of Mercedes lighted sills which are a $720 option.

Hey guys...I just wanted to pose a question...tentatively...see what you all thought. Adam is taking credit card orders, or well any type of payment...for these sills...very gracious of him if you ask me. Makes life simpler for everyone. Now I know this site costs money and with the recent...well...privatization of the A-TL site...I thought it may be nice to help Adam out a bit.

Would you guys mind paying an extra $2-5 to each sill or trim order, and that money went directly to Adam to pay for this site? That's not much right? Tell me what you guys think. If you don't want to do it okay...I just thought it'd be a nice thing...and of course $2-5 isn't much. No Adam had nothing to do with it...I just thought about this last night, and I figure it's a nice gesture too. If not I'll forget the whole thing...

Sounds like a great idea, but I think it should be optional; because I think Adam is doing a great job on this site but I can [indirectly] help him defray his "expenses" in other ways....
