Aluminum Cold Air Box

Sup guys....just wanted to let those guys know that I was at Weapon-R yesterday to get the design for a cold air box done. It is all-aluminum...with a lexan shield on top to show off the filter. It allows a short ram the full advantage of a CAI without the worry of Hydro-Lock. We're still working on it...I'll take pictures of it tonight...the design is a prototype and still very rough...but we have the general dimensions down...and will have an almost production model by next week or the week after. I can actually feel the difference.....the take off feels better and the car seems to be revving quicker. I can also tell the differences in intake charge...with my car running....I could feel the heat from the engine bay...(after 20 minutes of driving)....and then I stuck my hand over in the cold air box area and felt how much colder it really was.

I think I'll walk over to Tech Docs and steal a camera and take a pic for you guys....now..all the cuts aren't perfect...just a rough prototype...
As for the dyno...I don't have a baseline...so, it would do no good..

Damn Moo, you better take those pics really quick. Ask your boy to hook me up with a cold box too. I might sell my AEM next year for the Comptech Icebox.

The Weapon-R one does have a hum to it....everyone knows...so, at WOT, the car sounds a LOT louder...and at idle it has that humming UFO-sound...but I think it's more the filter than anything because of it's design.

Apu, you'll need a new intake too.

Hella, I know...forgot...didn't think you were coming by..
BTW, it was a screwdriver that I left under my hood that caused the hood to be skewed..
