I am currently an Orlando, Florida resident, and am excepting a job In Virginia / DC area. What are the laws up there regarding Modifications to our cars and so on? I have a body kit, BBK, System, CAI, HKS Mufflers, dropped, and 5% limo tint all around, and windsheild is 50%. Please let me know what I am in store for!

Well, your tint is illegal anywhere in the US, if that helps.

Your going to have to live there for a while. See if you get bothered. The only thing I see would be the tint.

 

The tint must go........and it makes a difference if you live in DC or Virginia.
In DC the inspectors can be a little schizophrenic: may get bitchy about certain muffler noise and forget it if you're slammed. A Comptech/ H&R sport drop will be fine. They may say something if you changed your highbeam or turn signal bulbs. And about the tint, if your coming to DC remove it...period. They only allow " factory " tint - I remove mine every two years. The sad thing when you get it inspected is you don't know if the inspector is cool or a prick. Sometimes they get into your sound system and don't really care about the little things just pass emissions and braking and have good tread on your tires.

 

All of this sounds about right, but it depends if you live in DC or Virginia. In Virginia we have emissions in most counties. Mufflers may be to loud and most inspectors dont like that. Make sure you have no "blue type" of bulbs anywhere on the car. For tint, the windshield tint is highly illegal, and i think 35% is allowed on side and rear windows in Virginia. I cant say I've ever had a problem with being dropped in Va.

 

You are in store for over priced houses, and the Common Wealth of Virginia. If you live in Virginia you have to pay taxes on your car every year to get your city sticker.

 

If you have a hint that your gonna be anywhere near the FAIRFAX area...take tint muffler off....otha than that your str8....your drop should be str8....yea we know it sucks...but hey...welcome to the common wealth...
