Almost got pulled over racing a C4 Corvette
My friends I just finished eating at a local sushi bar, when we decided to head back to his pad to chill with some girls. On the way there, we all lined up at a redlight, I took the far right lane which was a bike lane. To my left was a white C4. At the time I thought nothing of it. By the time I slowed down the light turned green, I downshifted to 2nd gear and tried to take the lead; at this time I noticed the C4 not letting me pass, so I gunned it. I passed the C4 and put about a car on him at the end of my 2nd gear. I hit 3rd gear with about 2 cars ahead of the C4 and I merged into the main lane, then I let off. The C4 comes by flying past me, then I look at my speedometer and it read 90+mph I quickly slow down, and notice the C4 kept going. I look into my rear view mirror to locate my friends. Instead I see a cop car behind me with his flood lights aimed at me!! He quickly pulls past me and pursues the C4. At this time the C4 notices him and quickly merges back to my lane, the cop goes flying ahead and ended up having to goto the left lane turn lane. He then turns on his full lights, I started to shit bricks thinking hes going to pull everyone over and weed the two of us out! I made a quick decision and turned right into another street. The story ends with me taking the freeway and arriving at my friends house, safe and sound. Kids dont try this at home!

Some C4's are fast, some are not. I could'nt even tell what mods this C4 had. It all happend so quickly, but from the results I can mostly assume it was stock. It was definiately a late model C4, like mid to late 90's.

Your story makes me think about the time I tried to get a guy in a 993 C2S to race me in the S4. I was looking at his car kind of hard because it looked really nice. I paced next to him for a minute to see if he would bite. Then from a light I got on it a little to see if he would take the bait, but he just ignored me again. So, I told my girl I give up and wouldn't bother him anymore. So, at the next light we are both the first cars in our lanes again. I just happened to look in my side view mirror and notice a DPD patrol car right behind the 911. I told my girl "Good thing he didn't race my dumb ass, we both might have been caught racing........but I hope he doesn't decided to take off from this light. I hope he sees that cop"........sure enough. When the light turned green......I made sure to start off as slow as possible, doing nothing to make the guy in the 911 take off......didn't matter. As soon as I pulled off from the light, he nails it.........1st and most of 2nd gear of his car. Needless to say, the cop took off after him and turned on the cheeries. I felt bad because he probably wouldn't have taken off if I hadn't bothered him a few miles back. I hope he didn't get a ticket. Odds are he got up to alteast 50-60mph.....speed limit was 35 in that particular area where he was stopped. :o
