Hey All Motor, sorry if this is an old question, but what's the dip in tq from? I notice it's there at almost the same spot in both setups, around 4000 RPM? Is it some safety in the tuning...low timing or added fuel? Or does it have more to do with the volumetric efficiency of the engine vs the turbo?
Awesome work man. I think what is so great about your setup (even more than the impressive numbers) is how simple it is. I'm not sure if everyone even sees that. I don't mean simple as a bad thing of course and I'm not saying that it didn't take a lot of sweat, and hours fabricating and thinking about what's going to work. Sure it took a lot of work and a lot of thought sizing things correctly and making things flow corectly, but in the end it really is clean looking and you don't have a redicuous mod list. There isn't a ton of hardware like you see in a lot of other big project cars. I think that speaks volumes personally. A lot of times people get too far ahead of themselves and really overdo it. They make a change in one place and then have to accound for that change somewhere else and keep working in circles "band aiding" their setups.

For a more detailed response: There was a lot of thought (engineering thought) that went into this kit. The basic premise was:
(i) Keep it Simple Stupid
(ii) Adequate fuel for 550-600hp
(iii) Timing control
(iv) Properly sized turbo to flow 600-700hp on this motor
(v) Charge piping at minimum size (and bends) to support 600-700hp
(vi) Carefully designed exhaust manifold given the space constraints
(vii) Safety marging while tuning
(viii) Use the highest-quality components for reliability reasons
(i) through (viii) pretty much sums up the whole kit. There is nothing unnecessary in the kit. We could have saved a few $$ by using lower quality stuff, but that would compromise (viii). The power gains were pretty good considering the simplicity.
The 'dip' in the torque curve is from the IMRC - it could be eliminated if it was open the entire time.

Plus I can't beleive that I'm the only one on this forum that subsribes to turbo. You would think with all the mod crazy people, there would be more.
