All you FI folks - READ!

Here's some 'eye-opening' information about the Walbro GSS-341/2 in-tank pumps that nearly all of us are using with our S/C's and Turbo's. This is the pump that Comptech sends with their kit.

The CL-S static fuel-pressure is ~55psi (no vaccum). At 5-6psi, fuel-pressure (via the Comptech FPR) rises to around 90-95psi.

The Walbro pump flows about 50 gal/hr at 60psi and that drops to 27 gal/hr at 90psi. As you get to 110psi, it drops to 1 gal/hr!!!

All those wanting to run > 5-6psi, should re-think their fueling situation!

Ideally, you want to run 550cc @ 45psi for a FI application, but we don't have engine-management control to make this a driveable application (even the E-manage doesn't cut it). A Rising-rate solution is okay, but not at very high rail pressures.

I take it that's because the E-Manage can only control injectors up to 50% larger than stock? In our case up to 360cc since the stockers are 240cc. I really wish Acura would have put bigger than 240cc injectors in this engine!!

FPH009 - $108

is this what we have? I had my fuel injector flow rate check by RC engineering. They came up with 250cc.

We have 240cc or 250cc; Acura compensates for this by running slightly higher rail-pressures on our cars. Normally, Honda's run around 46psi (no vacuum). CL-S's run around 55psi-59psi.

Currently my fuel pressure drop down to about 85psi when my boost level is at 6psi with vtec engaged. Before Vtec my fuel pressure is as high as 95psi. Is this normal?

They weren't planning on maniacs such as yourselves putting forced induction into their cars .
Sort of like my car. Stock, the injectors are a little under 400cc. If I put an upgraded turbo in, I have to go to at least around 560cc. Then you have to fiddle around the engine management $$$

My injectors are already running at about 80-85% of capacity. If I were to get a boost controller, I run the risk of potential problems.

When our cars hit VTEC, injectors pump a lot more fuel, but I don't understand why the rail-pressure is dropping - are you dropping boost?
