What are the advantages of CVT and where is the best place to find info on it?

CVT is a continuously variable transmission. It's essentially gearless, using a belt with constantly varying ratio instead. In theory, instead of 4, 5 or 6 forward gears, you have an infinite number of possible gears.
Several car companies have made them over the last few years. Audi currently offers one, and I think Subaru used to offer one as well.
They're supposed to get excellent gas mileage because the drive ratio is constanly being adjusted for speed, engine speed, available torque, driving conditions, etc. I've never drive one, but I've heard they're very cool.

I had noticed that honda now offers it in the civic hx and the insight, I wonder how it will hold up. does it feel different when your driving the car?
