Are all OEM cat converters the same?
I'm getting rid of my RT cat. I'm just fed up with all the noise it makes. It has only increased with time.
I'm looking at stock OEM replacements. I see a bunch out there now, but they range from $100 on up for what seems to be the same thing. OEM, direct fit, meets EPA etc.

I've been using the XLR8 cat since it came out and have had no complaints from males and some of the more particular females I know regarding the tone.
That's with Comptech headers, B-pipe and stock mufflers.
I guess it's all in the tolerance level of each individual.

i still wonder what gains could be had with the XLR8 cat.
rasp and drone are a no no though. i like louder but it needs to be classy.
not just some loud obnoxious sound coming from a car that shouldn't be

It's the XLR8 cat. It wasn't too bad when it was new. But it got loud & droning after some time. My car is just too loud for my tastes now. When I step on the gas it sounds like a race engine. I know some like it, I just don't. Especially in the early morning(6am) when I go to work. I had complaints about it from neighbors. So I'm done with it.
What I need to know is with these Direct fit OEM replacements. They are priced all over the place, low around $100 & as high as $500. They all say they are direct fit bolt on(not universal), Meets OEM & EPA standards. I just don't get why 1 is $150 & another is $300?
These are not HP ones with added flow, just stock replacements. I found 1 from Eastern I think I'm going to go with. It's $150 but they seem to be decent,
