Okay, so I am lowering my car this thursday.

I know I should wait 2 weeks so they settle, then get an alignment. BUT in 3 weeks I am putting my new 18" rims on.

Now, right now I am on snow tires, 205/55/16,, when I put my summer tires on with the 18's it will be 225/40/18.

It will raise the overall diameter and my car, by 0.2 inches.

So I am guessing that its better to get the alignment in 3 weeks, after I get the rims on. Am I right to think that?>???

HERE IS MY QUESTION.

How does an alignment work? Is there any chance of an alighment scratching my rims??? My rims are 1000x more prone to scratching than the stock cl rims. (look at pic)

Should I just get the alignment with my 16's on, or get them with my 18's?

Is there a machine that does alignments? I have no clue.

Alignment doesn't involve your rims.

 

Yeah, I recommend leaving your snow tires until the springs settle, THEN do your alignment... Easy to scratch a rim during an aligment.

 

i agree. drop it on the snows. wait 3 weeks or something like that, alignment, then put the 18's on.

yeah, well i'm getting my car lowered at optional...

this thursday at 12pm, the guy wants 250 canadian with alignment, thats what he agreed to on the phone atleast.

how much is he charging you?, i know the mods your getting, is optional gonna do all of it?

 

I think I might be getting it done wednesday.

Swaybars and Exhaust I will install myself.

But I'll get him to install my headers, clearcorners, and coilovers. I think he told me 350 for headers and coilovers installed + another 50 for alignment, but he said we could negotiate when I brought him all the parts.

 

wanna go together on wednesday so we can maybe get a better deal?
