Alarm going off from trunk

Went out to my car, pressed the trunk release button on my fob.
I could hear the release "THUNK" sound
Lid did not open. This usually happens the day after I wash it. Maybe soap + water + leftover dirt kept the rubber seals sticky. Happens all the time.
Lift the trunk lid with one finger
Car alarm goes off, as if I pried it off with a crowbar

Has this ever happened to anybody else? I've had the trunk lid stick before but never had the alarm go off when I lift it open myself. I know for a fact I heard the latch release.

Sounds like the trunk release latch mechanism thingy is either dirty or jammed and isn't releasing all the way. Clean it!

Well I'm thinking if I'm able to lift it with a finger there wouldn't be any obstruction I guess it is due for a cleaning, tho
