Which Air Filter?

Are there any differences between Fram, Puralator and OE air filters for the CLS?

Any advantage with any of those? Time for 30,000 service and I wanted to do some of the things myself.

Which disposable filter should I get? Or should I get one of the ones you clean and re-oil? Any performance advantage?

I just intalled a Puralator filter and it looked identical to the OE filter I took out (same thickness and material). Price was about the same with the Puralator being about $5 cheaper.

yeah, I visually compared FARM and and Puralator and FARM looked better (more quality in the way its made, it seemed also denser).
OEM filter looks pretty good too, its only $5 more for the OEM, so I given its only $5 I would go with OEM (just get it from your dealer parts deparment).

The OEM filters have a thin film of oil that the other disposable filters don't have to catch the microscopic dirt!

i installed a K&N filter, and i can definately feel the increase airflow over the stock filter. I recently took it out and put the stock filter in while i was cleaning and re-oiling it and it was a good check to see the difference. i can really feel it. oh yeah, it makes a nice growl when u floor it and have ur resonator removed
