Aftermarket Navi Vs. OEM Navi?
I have been interested in an aftermarket navigation system such as pioneer or alpine. How do these rank against OEM navigation systems? Someone told me they were worse, i figured they'd be about the same. can anyone shed some light on this? thanks

Some of them are worst, but the Acura OEM system is made by Alpine I believe. Right now I'd say go with aftermarket. I forgot the name but theres a new one coming out that is like Navi/Video screen/Mp3 player/ Gtech pro type of a thing for around $2000. you can beat that.

I have the Alpine D900 in my truck, and I love it. The navi system is great, my favorite feature that it has is that I can put in a phone number of a business or store and it will come up with the address. I am sure that option is available on many different screens, but not in the OEM Navi Systems in my parents' Benz's. My moms 2004 E-Class doesn't have it, which I was surprised. The screen on the D900 is also sweet, even in direct sunlight I can still see it perfectly. I'd say go with that, although the Pioneer is awesome too.
I paid about $2000 for mine.

Will the avic-n1 play audio burned onto a DVD? I didn't see anything that mentioned it, but if it can play video... couldn't it just play an audio track(s) as well? Losing the stock 6 disc changer is my only reservation right now to swapping HU's... but if I could pick up 6 CD's worth of songs with 1 DVD, it would be worth it to get this + navi.

Anyone know the answer to my DVD Audio question? I tried to call Pioneer support but didn't have any luck. Basically trying to figure out if I dropped 120 .wav files onto a DVD (like you would putting 20 songs on a CD), would this thing play it?
