my friend just purchased 03 acura cls w/o navi and he was wondering what is the best aftermarket navi? he wants navi that is portable and has everything built in. what do you guys recommend?

go for a head unit.. avic n1 is by fat the coolest radio/navi unit available

Do you mean like a Garmin unit?

Otherwise, go with Eclipse or Pioneer HU for nav.

Garmin 2660 is the best thing going for portable units right now. I have a streetpilot III and I love it. I know the 2610 is popular, but uploading maps all the time can become a PITA.

I got the Avic, it is very bueno, just make sure u get a changer so u can always leave the dvd disc in, it is a lot more convinient

i have a garmin 2620, i LOVE it, the only difference in it and the 2660 is that if you lose signal it stores map/location, but only like 1 time have i ever lost a signal and it was because i went through an underwater tunnel
