$800 for a set of wheels for a car is actually not that much, especiacally considering that they are made to fit the application and are not just a universial fitment

$800 is not a bad price at all for rims. Have you heard of Asanti?

not me, but Rapture,
btw i just paid about that price for a set of 4 wheels, and it was a SWEET deal for me (for some used 18" A-spec wheels that are in perfect condition, like not even a scatch)

this thread didn't start out as a discussion of the RonJon 4G TL grills. not saying it's not worth discussing (plenty of threads in the 4G TL Forum), but has no relevance here.

Tks for the comments on the new TL. Don't believe the weather is going to let me get any Zaino on it before the cold weather hits, so I'll be busy when spring returns.

And yes ... Jacobpockros found my CL on Ebay ... even sent me a PM to let me know about it. I see the current bid is a whopping $860 (gone up from $1.00 as of late yesterday).

Thinking of adding the body kit to it next spring. Debating what to do about the grill, and really like the way RonJon's DTIII's look on the 4G TL. Have to research how much (if any) impact to the SH-AWD architecture if I lower it a bit, and not sold on the Takeda Retain Short Ram Intake yet. Not going to jump into anything until it's quality proven.

lower it should not have any effect on the awd system, if any thing it would be the VSA system that it would effect

tks ... these are the type of things I need to research b4 going down this road. Not quite as simple as the CL was.

yeah you can even get rims for like $400, but then you get bloated (heavy), weak pos wheels

Actually it does. With the SH-AWD system basically every computer system in the car talks to each other to go around a curve. Lowering it can cause the computer to over/under compensate for torque transfer to the outside wheel.

You can do it, as VTEC.net did it to their project RDX, but the handling does not improve until you reprogram the module.

I'm guessing makes of quality suspension are finding ways to deal with that. I'd leave it up to them

yeah kinda forgot about how it will accelerate the outside wheel in turns, but then it be more VSA and not the actual awd system, do to you pushing the limits,

and just one more thing we will be locked out of (can't seem to find them reprograming the module)

What a great car you picked...that's the EXACT way I'd order it although that kind of monthly expense is not in my forseeable near future.

When you decide to move onto the next car, being that you take great care of your cars...keep me in mind for selling it. I would be interested, for sure.

They do. These manual CL's can last forever. Yours looked like it was still new.
People just get wigged out by the mileage though which isn't how they should nessesarilly judge it.

but most cars are trashed or not well taken care by then so they won't have much life left in them
also cars by then are not worth that much, so if it needs a major repair, it is just easier to go get a different car

think about those people who always buy a new car every couple of years , even before the warrenty is over

too funny. Yesterday, there were 6 bids, current showing at $830. Today, 4 addit bids, showing current bid at $1,825. The Auto trader listing is $167 dollars under the asking price as shown on the auction page. The mileage ... newly shown as 221,282 ... still doesn't accurately reflect the 280 miles he claims he/his mechanic have driven it (and I have the odometer disclosure statement to prove it). I don't see the guy getting anything near his reserve - whatever that is - and I really don't understand re-listing it at $167 less on Auto Trader than the auction purchase price. Plus ... $426 processing fee? I only paid $100 for my new one, but I've recently learned that VA has gone ballistic with their processing fees. Also funny that he hasn't really looked closely at the car ... no mention at all of the aftermarket underpinnings.

Maybe this is his first attempt at fleabay and/or used car sales?

You should just go on ebay and bid on it and win it back for like $2,000. That way, you have your CL back and gain $4,000 (assuming they bought it from you for around 6,000 or more.)

Then you go back to the same dealer and trade it in to them again for another + or - $6,000.

Repeat this process over and over until you reach $10,000,000. Then you will probably be good to go.

You know there is a reserve that is obviously higher than 2k right? But regardless someone is getting a steal if it goes for around 5k. That thing is clean for the mileage. I'd toss a bid if I had the money handy. Wouldn't have even got rid of it for the pennies they gave you for it. Not worth it. Probably just gonna get crashed by some ungrateful kid now.
