aem v2 intake

hello everyone. I'm pretty new to acurazine and just got my cl-p as my first car a couple months ago. THIS CAR IS GREAT, even though its not the type s as planned

HOWEVERR, I just ordered an aem v2 intake. Cant wait for the bastard to come...anyone have one yet? If so can you feel a preformance difference? Hows the sound?

you should feel a significant performance difference all around the torque curve, as its dual chambers give you the benefits of both a short-ram (increase in low-end torque) and full CAI (high-end torque).

and judging by my friends civic, it's got a pretty sweet roar to it at WOT

FINALLY! its been a long wait but i finally installed my v2 today. my first impression of it was WOW! on idle, it isnt too loud, but u can definatlely hear the humming noise through the fender. as v-tech kicked in i went it is very noticable how it uses the two sizes of pipes for low and high rpm's. overall this intake was AWESOME

awww hell yeah........I used to owned a CL-P and I believe I was the first or one of the first to actually pop on the AEM V2 intake in the CL-P and that thing was amazing. After that came my Headers, and then after headers was my custom 2.5 inch piping Magnaflow Exhaust.

interesting, thats exactly what exhaust setup i was panning to have...i also heard the borlas sound pretty sweet on the cl too

due to differences in the diameter of the piping, it won't fit on CL-S's

throttle body size. i think they found that it wouldent be as effective on the cl-s or something like that

I am also looking to get AEM intake.

I believe it usually retails for more than $200. This site is selling for $119.

^^^Just to make sure, you do realize that it is a short ram intake, correct? Most people would rather prefere the cold air intake because colder air is better, sayin that because the short ram takes in air from the engine compartment, which is warmer. But the difference in performance isn't dramatically different.

Yes it is. When engine is hot, it is sucking hot engine air. You are not really getting much of a gain. A cold air intake sucks the ambient air from outside which is a lot colder and thus getting more of a gain.

-If you are talking about a 4-6 hp gain over a short ram intake, that is pretty big for a bolt on.

SRI's are designed so that they will give you more low-end torque, but due to their location, aren't very effective and you won't notice a big difference horsepower-wise,where as true CAI's, which locate the filter outside of the hot engine bay, will net you more horsepower and increases in high-end torque.

The V2 CAI as aforementioned has a different design that gives you bigger gains all around, and it's $300 becuase it's superior lol

does every aem cai instructions have the optional power adder part at the end? Just did it today and felt a pretty good gain, but the engine check light is on..could this be the reason or should i have it checked??
