I had my AEM installed by CarBoy here in Houston in July 2001. I had the rattling and discovered it was a bracket used to position the down pipe of the intake. The tab was attached next to the base of the battery. I taped some rubber padding btw the two and kinda fixed the rattling.
My main complaint is that down next to the K&N I discovered a hole in the intake pipe!!! It is about the size/shape of a quarter. Apparently, the intake was resting on an exposed screw/bolt and just wore a hole in the intake.
Watch out for this sort of thing.

Loosen everything and adjust it. That happened to me like twice a year....I just loosened the hose clamps and twisted the tube in the opposite direction of the rattle.....it takes like 2 minutes!

I jammed some foam inbetween like everyone else.
dreweasy, from what i hear the intake really doesnt usually suck up water. Many members say that the intake has to be practically submerged to cause hydrolock. So basically stay away from 2ft potholes. I bought a bypass valve and havnt even installed it.
