Talking AEM Intake

Just installed an AEM cold air and it sounds awesome!!! Nice noticeable pull at high RPM. So far i have installed:

AEM intake
Tein Basic coilovers
Neuspeed f and r sways
Enkie RSV 17 x 7.5
Comptech tranny oil cooler

I have had the car now for 1 1/2 months and it is a blast.

Yes that is next on my list of mods. I am trying to beat my friend that just swapped an SR20-det motor in his 240. It is very close right now but I think with the headers I will take him.

People say that intakes just make noise, but my TL-S definitely got faster after adding the AEM CAI, both on the low and high end. But of course, the sweetest part is that VTEC AEM CAI Roar...........

basically same HP increase...the Icebox and AEM V2 give slightly better power increase vs. the regular CAI...but the Icebox doesnt have the sweet sound , but some people dont want it.

No AEM CAI and V2 CAI are pretty much exactly the same they did a dyno comparison on a 2000 Civic SI and the CAI did better than the V2 on that car check out www.tprmag.com. But the three of them are equal in performance just each one unique in sound.

Sorry for basically pulling this thread back from the dead.

So there's absolutely no difference between the V2 and the regular AEM? Cause i'm deciding between the two. If it's just a sound difference, does anyone know what it is?

Good question, I'd like the answer as well. To my knowledge, AEM only had the regular CAI available, not the V2 CAI.

the V2 gives more power and it gives it earlier than the regular CAI - though it is only for the TLP and CLP as of now.

I have gotten so used to my icebox that I cant really tell if it is making more power than stock. I gotta get my ass to the dyno while its still cool and not humid.

I like the way the aem looks, but loud intakes get old pretty quick. I enjoy my icebox because it fit great, will never break, the filter is easy as shit to get to, and looks OEM.

Cool. AEM sounds good, but I still like my Icebox a lot more. Did you install the bypass? Look into it.

And start saving for those headers. Soon they will be calling your name.

Does that mean that AEM is prone to breaking?
