Aem Cai Robs Power?

I was wondering , i herd from a couple of ppl that changing our stock intake to an aem would be a waste since there r no power gains and it actually losses power since our factory intake is optimal. Is this true?? and did anyone dyno their cl with the aem?I was about to get an intake this weekend but i wanna be sure i am doin the right thing.

PH.

it's been dynoed, and has been shown to add 3-10 hp. If I remember right.

Stock intake is far from optimal unless you remove the stupid silencer thing from it and replace it with a straight tube and cover the end with some mesh, which is what I did. Then toss in a Comptech hi-flow air filter and it's as free-flowing and optimal as it can get without going to a CAI or short-ram.

the AEM has better air flow too. one thing about performance is the way air flows through an intake. you want to keep the airflow as smooth flowing as possible too, which is why the AEM is better than a stock air box when it comes to top end power.

There have been dyno numbers posted before. I just changed mine. It seems like it pulls a little harder, sounds great, and I have noticed a consistent 1-2 mpg increase around town...
