AEM CAI problems...

I installed my AEM CAI today, and when I went to install my Bypass valve it was giving me one hell of a time. The bypass valve would not go on, no matter what I did. I finally busted out a ruler, and found out that they had sent me the wrong bypass valve. They sent me the 2.75" instead of the 3" which makes no sense at all. Wouldnt someone figure that if a person is buying a AEM CAI with 3" piping, then they should probably send the 3" bypass as well. I didnt even think that they would send me the wrong size, until it struck me that some moron in a factor wouldnt think of that. Well, I am going to pick up the new bypass on Monday, and in the meantime it is being held together with one of those silicon bracket things. Sorry for the lengthy story.

You dont need it anyway bro. Look back in the search for a review someone did on the need for the valve.

Im glad I didnt put mine on. Really not necessary unless you are driving through 2 feet of water.

By the way if anyone wants a bypass I have one in the box for 20 bucks.

You think that's bad? AEM had to replace my filter b/c the front left clip punctured it (better check your filter).
They replaced it w/a 2.5" filter
OTOH, they did replace it quickly.

Pele77 probably already cut his CAI. Just call the people that sent it to you..to send the right size.

Also, be sure they send a plastic coil to put in your by-pass valve, which they are using for the recall. It is not need, but it is safe precaution and it is free too.
