aem cai hose

i just recently installed my aem cai. theres this one part where a hose connects to on the underside of the CAI. i just recently took a 900 mile road trip with it on, and i guess that hose got disconnected along the way. my question is, could something have been damaged during that time? i noticed my maintenance light just started flashing today. whats the worst that could have happened?

make should all the hoses are properly connected, if you get a check engine light then disconnect the battery, wait until a minute or so and re-connect the battery. happen to me before when I installed my CAI a couple of years back when I mixed up the hose connections and cause a check engine light.....

i'm alil' worried about that too.... i still need to get hose clamps. Would anything get damaged if you drive around for alil' bit with a non-connected hose?

i dont hink it would hurt anything but why not just go to an auto parts store and pickup some hose clamps???? it shouldnt take more than a couple of minutes to put them on and that way you wont have to worry....

I will. That's for this weekend. I was always just curious on what could possibly happen.

while on topic..did anybody actually go through the trouble to re-hose all the connections? i just used the stock hoses and hooked em up to the intake instead of doing all this other re-connection stuff the instructions said.

What? How did you connect the radiator hose/line then?

yes, you have to reroute the hoses.

nono i did hook everything up, but the instruction manual suggested an alternative hook-up because one of the hoses is positioned awkwardly on top of the intake pipe? does anybody know what i'm talking about?

i know exactly what you are talking about. I did the install last night, and you must followed the instruction off this website, correct?? http://wizardsworks.org/chod/acura/cai/. I am running into the same question of whether to use the original hoses to connect back to the aem cai or do the reroute thing with the new hoses the instruction above asked to purchase. But he said the dealer would prob just connect the orginal hoses back to the intake. I am not sure.

yeah thats exactly what i mean. i didnt re-route it...seems to be working fine for me..but also for u other guys with the aem cai..how low does your cai extend? mine goes really low..so low in fact that the cone's pretty much resting on the rubber splash guards on the bottom..is this normal?

you wanna reroute it only because just so the dual metal pipe doesnt leave dent on the hoodline. Technically, it works fine without rerouting it. I ended up doing the rerouting too just to protect my hoodline, that's all. My filter is touching the bottom a lil too.
