Aem Cai Diy
I saw Chod's FAQ on how to install the CAI, but it involved splash guards. Does anyone know of any other real in depth installation guide to install the aem CAI. Thanks...and yes i tried to use the search option.

I don't understand your problem, does your car not have splash guards or something?

No i do not have splash guards, and I have no knowledge on installing car parts. Your FAQ looks real nice, but it involves steps with splash guards and the bypass valve, but I guess I will just skip those steps.

If you don't, and you don't have splash guards, or any other way to access the area below the original resonator, I imagine you'd probably have to remove the bumper.
I'd suggest maybe just following the AEM instructions (although the ones that came with my intake were pretty confusing)

charge
Shops should charge you the most $20.00 .. if its higher don't even bother just do it yourself... or if theres alot of car shops where you live .. play the game.. say this one store charged you 20.00 can you do it for cheaper.. like 15.00? shops can do that install like in 5 minutes.

Spalsh guards are the hard plastic covers on the bottom of your CL that keeps water from splashing up inside the engine bay and all. You have them but probasbly didn't realize they were called that. They are held on by one bolt and 2 press fittings. That's the only way to get up in there.

Realistically, I think that most shops would charge an hour to two hours of labor at their rate -- probably anywhere from $65 - 95 to $130 - 190 roughly.
This is an easy do it yourself install, but you do have to access the front of the car from underneath and it's easiest and safest if you you have a jack & jackstands supporting the car. The proper install also requires re-routing of a coolant line (and if you do that you should bleed the air bubbles out of your coolant system).
If you know how to work basic tools, and know how to connect part A to part B then you'll be fine. Follow the directions and take it slowly.
I'd also recommend referencing a shop manual (Helm Manual) before doing any DIY work on your car. The purchase of that was the best aftermarket money I've spent on this car.
