AEM CAI BPV problems!

First, I tried to do a Search yesterday and today and the search function just hung for me. So I couldn't get the 411 I wanted so here we go:

Okay, please correct me if I'm wrong, but the Bypass Valve for the AEM CAI is basically one piece that is attached inline with your AEM CAI assembly. So you cut the CAI pipe and clamp it on between the two pieces of the pipe. I had a shop install the whole assembly a while back, and everything looked in order back when it was installed.

Well, I lifted the hood today and found my BPV split in half directly in the middle. Only the foam surrounding the BPV kept the two parts of the CAI pipe assembly close to each other. One end was kind of just hanging there, only secured to the chassis in one place.

So, has anyone had this happen to them, where their BPV splits?
Am I missing something here?
Looks like I need another BPV. It should be a snap to install, so I'm not worried about that.

Just curious for some feedback on this one. It is appreciated.

aem had a recall on BPV's that were breaking..certain serial number or something like that...but ill say...your car has a TSB on motor mounts if those have failed there maybe an excessive amount of play in the motor on and off throttle....

Why did that happen?

There should be something on the bottom (the U prong on the rubber screw thing) supporting part of the weight of the intake.

I.e. this part:

Guys,
Thanks for the replies.
Chod -- I have the U Prong and that supports that part of the CAI pipe. But that seems to be the only place that part of the pipe is connected to the chassis. Probably, that is fine. But since the BPV split, that U Prong is the only thing holding the CAI pipe in place, so there is some play.
Also, my BPV was installed on the other side of the bend in the CAI pipe. Mine is closer to the engine, just on the other side of the pipe bend. Hindsight being 20-20, I would have directed the installer to cut the pipe where you did, closer to the filter. But what is done is done and I've seen other people put their BPV where I have mine.
Thanks again for the feedback guys. Sounds like I'm gonna buy another BPV soon.
