How often does this thing have to be cleaned?

And how hard is it to do it?

I've had it on for about a year and still haven't touched it.

i usually do it with my oil change... Jus buy the k&n cleaner kit from pep boys or something... It'll clean and reoil (assuming that you don't have the dry flow filter)

25-30K miles. However check it every 10k. I've seen them hit 50+K miles before needing cleaning. Depends on what type of filter & how it's used.
