advice on actuator

I installed my obx headers about two weeks ago and the car was running great , it was pulling like crazy. However its been about a week that I noticed the car has not been as fast. So I checked the actuator and I discovered it did not move at all. Is it a coincedence that I installed my headers not to long ago (do the headers cause extra stress on the actuator) Will the dealers give me any hastles

Nothing you did had any influence on the failure of your IMRC. Take it in.

I wonder how many Type S's are driving around with a broken actuator and not even realizing it.

I moved mine and unplugged it to get more room in the back, from the top. Make sure it's plugged in.

In general, you can on IRMC and/or actuator...

Short answer: Pull on throttle cable or get buddy/friend to rev car from 2K to 4.5K and see if actuator moves above 3800 RPM (my car “actuates” at a slightly higher RPM -- this may be do to tachometer being "off" or … )
