adding a sub and amp to stock bose

im trying to add a subwoofer and amp to the stock bose system. ive been reading around on the forums and have been getting mixed information. some people say to get to the signal from the 6x9's others say to get the signal from inbetween the headunit and eq. i read silverknights tutorial but it seems like he is adding a amp for the stock speakers, i just need to add a sub and amp.....any help?

if your hookin up the amp to push the sub only you may as well get a new deck cuz the stock one aint got no rca out puts. besides, by upgrading the stock deck to new you wont have to install a seperate amp to push them stock speakers.
when i installed my amp, sub & deck: the deck itself made a big difference in my stock speaker sound quality.

just thought id put in some help.

Yes use silverknights guide, http://silverknight.clickhere2.net/sound.html

If you are just using a step down then hook the wires to the Blu/Yel, Gry/Wht, Brn/Wht, Red/Yel and for remote use Yel/Wht..
(Some amps come with wire outputs you can use instead of a step down)

Run Power wire and the Ground the normal. That's it..

i hooked up through the 6x9s and my car sounds great...and it still looks stock on the dash so the jackers dont even suspect my car to have any goodies IMO you should go through the 6x9's with the converter deal...its only like 20 bucks too so thats a plus

I kept my stocks & added a sub and amp w/the after market deck from my integra (alpine) and it sounds great. I also have a sep amp for the deck & got rid of the stock amp.

New Deck...no new speakers?

I'm a big audiophile for home but for cars don't know squat....

If we replace the stock Bose head unit, we don't have to replace speakers or bypass the amps? Just curious...

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Bose system and love the fact that there is absolutely no distortion when I crank it up...but transmitting Sirius over FM sucks using it.

Keep your stock deck and Bose Interior speakers....add sub and amp.

go to http://www.linkmeup.com/pd2.htm

i have this and it works great!!!! No splitting wires, completely plug and play. I'm using this with my JL 500/1 and 2 10 inch W3.

To replace the headunit all you need is the Metra Wiring harness for our car, which has a built in amp bypass..

A alternative to replacing the headunit and hooking up the Sirius is to use a Blitzsafe adapter..

Our stock radios have a extra plug in the back of the head unti for a auxillary input(blitzsafe adpt.) All you do is hit the cd button twice and it goes into aux mode..
