AcuraZine, thanks for your help!

For some back ground, my wife used to have a 2003 TL-S; a lease that we turned in for a 2007 Accord EX-L 3.0L automatic coupe. We loved the power train in the TL-S, but hated the stock sound system and lack of curtain airbags and see really wanted a coupe.

It was fairly quick turning a 14.93ET @ 94.07Mph with an outstanding 2.294 60’ time at Houston Raceway Park two years ago in perfect weather, DA -600’. The 2003 ET’d better than the 2007 Accord EX-L 3.0L automatic (15.14 @ 93.95Mph) due to laughable 2.40-ish 60’ times. Maybe the additional torque of the 3.2L TL motor? The TL-S also weighed 150Lbs more than the Accord coupe.

Anyway, to the point, since my son needed to replace his 1999 Dodge Neon lat fall; it just wasn’t worth the money to keep it on the road anymore, we purchased him a 2001 CL purchased last October 2007 (He has 3.0GPA @ Texas A&M). For Christmas I installed the Peripheral IAS71 Asian/Import iPod Interface ($99.00) for Factory Radio for his iPod adaptors using incredible step by step instructions from this site. The job lasted about 2 hours and saved me at least $100 in labor! It works perfect from the steering wheel controls! I couldn’t have done the install without the information found on this web site!

In January the transmission bit the dust with 89,900 miles on the clock. The local Acura dealer in Houston (Gilman) sent a flatbed up to College Station to pick up the stranded CL; order from the Dallas warehouse and installed a remanufactured transmission and supplied a TSX loaner for eight days and almost 450 miles while my 2007 Accord EX-L 2.4L 5-speed manual got a rest! Out of pocket cost, $0.00!

Overall, my son really loves his CL and for the first time actually washes it when it gets dirty, a miracle! Just wanted to say thanks! This web site has a LOT of helpful information for Acura CL’s & TL’s.
