Acura Under Body Spoiler
I tried my local acura parts department to get some info on when this would be offered, they had no information to give me at all. Anyone else tried to get a release date with positive results?

Quite honestly, some of the parts guys you deal with have their heads up their ars..
I say, try to verify it with a couple dealers first. Maybe Wayne or Jens can shed some light on it.
Some local dealers here said that I couldn't put the 02 TL tail lights on my 01 TL.. "The part numbers were different." But thanks to Wayne from ParkAve and other members, it was simple to find out.
btw, my experience with Los Gatos Acura is pretty bad IMO.. Their sales are good, but the service/parts are not. Stevens Creek's service and parts are better, but they are expensive.

"Ok, I just got back from my sales in acura.... got the 02 CL broucher.... No, no six speed in the first half of the CLS... and the sales confirm that the first group of CL will arrive around mid-Sep. and six speed won't be out until Feb 15, 2002, but they WILL be out... cuz he let me look at their training guide, they do show the six speed configuration, and stuff... and there WILL be a factory for the CLs, but not sure will it be the SEMA kit, but there will be one.... Price LISTED at $1350, and the cost for those are $1020. These are the info that we have now.... update more later..."
When people tell you no it will not fit 2001, BS, its the exact same car, I dun see why not..... And the parts department said no, of course not yet, cuz the kit is not out yet, and how will they have the codes for it..... my friend can get the info becuase its gonna on the sales department, not parts.....

Ok- it does say "underbody spoiler" in the available accessories section of the 02 CL sales brocure. When I check the parts catalog, it does not list any such parts as of yet. I talked with my Parts manager, and we have not gotten the "advance order sheet" for the 2002 Cl accessories yet. Once we get that, I shold have all the info.
BTW- I had the opportunity to speak to a very knowledgable individual from Acura Engineering and the 6-speed CL does exsist. Production slated to begin next month! No info on release date, however.

one thing for sure is once its available SNOOK/TIM will probably have it on autocarparts.com at a cheaper price than the dealer. and im sure ahmotor and other places will have factory replica's so the price will be even lower.

Hey Guys, I have a Prelude with a Factory Body Kit that I put on my self. My Buddy has a CL Type S and when I looked at the underside of his rear and front bumber I found slots. Looks like Acura put slots on both the front and back. The slots are used for putting clips in (the clips have screw nuts on them) which then allow you to place some kind of body kit and screw it in. Go look at your under you bumbers and you will see what i am talking about. There is about 8 slots in the back (just like my prelude) and about 6 in the fron (just like my prelude). What i told my buddy was that it looks like Acura intended to have a body kit on the CL, because why would they have put those holes for the clips on the bumpers. I think they planned it all along, just that some egg head executive said, no I don't think anyone will like that, don't offer it, don't waste research money on that.

While getting oil changed today, looked at the TL-s under-body kit and the RSX under-body kit.
I assume our kit will look just like the TL's kit? If so, I really don't think its worth the $1,000+ dollars. It seems to blend in with the car, just extending the existing plastic down about 2-3 more inches.
I hope it is more like the under-body kit on the RSX. The front of this kit is much more pronounced and aggressive looking. The sides flair out more and are more noticable, and the back has some styling to it. That would be a nice kit for our CL-S.
But now I am thinking, people are adding headers ($1400), sways ($400), cai ($200), spoiler ($600), underbody kit ($1200), springs ($400), .....
With over $4,000 in mods for some people, I think we are pushing our price range into something better that comes in 3 letters
