ACURA sweeps Sebring show room stock races
I just returned from the annual show room stock races at Sebring International raceway sponsored by Speedvision. We can all be proud that Real Time Racing and their fleet of Acura's won every race at Sebring. The Acura Integra R won over a fleet of BMW 330's in the touring class and the Acura NSX won over an Audi S4 in Grand sports. If you have Speedvision look for these races to be telelvised within the next 2 weeks. They were both great races with last lap passes for the win.
I talked with Peter Cunningham of Real Time racing and he plans to show room stock race the CLS in place of the Integra R's. However, the sanctioning body has not approved the change yet. Peter said since the Integra's are competitive with the BMW 330's the CLS motor should just stomp them. After all the CLS motor is a detuned version of the NSX motor.

Either way it has never been fair that the 4 cyl Integra motor is in competition with the 6 cyl BMW motor. In spite of this fact Acura has won the manufacturers championship several years running. Granted, most of that fact has to do with the professionalism of Real Time racing. However, It'll be cool when they run the V6 Acura motor against the I6 BMW motor in competition. I'm looking forward to that race!!!

What about the tranny? Are they going to keep it auto five or drop in a manual six? Believe it or not, there's a Lexus GS400 out there in some series (can't remember at the moment) still running the auto slush box.
This is VERY interesting news...

Yes, I should have mentioned that. The series rules only permit the factory tranny to be raced. However, the electronic controls that govern them are permitted to be modified for racing application. Peter Cunningham told me that they will be using the sequential portion of the CLS's tranny, but the auto 1st to 2nd will be by passed. Remember though that the sanctioning body has to approve these changes. It is in their best interest that the CLS, or any other model for that matter, does not dominate. How they handle a dominate car is to add 40 lbs every time the car wins. Then take 10 away when it doesn't win.
The Lexus GS400 used to race in the Speedvision cup that races at Sebring. It never did very well and was not at Sebring this year.

Heh, the guy who won in the Acura Integra was like "I hope we get the RSX soon b/c this thing is done(referring to the integra)" I can't wait to see the RSXs on the track.
