Acura Service Question
Acura Service Question
My car has 1900 miles on it, and I still haven't changed the oil. I was wondering if I should take it to the dealer, or get it done elsewhere. Does the dealer charge for this? Do I have to follow a maintenance schedule? Do I have to make an appoinment? Sorry for the stupid questions. This is my first Acura and I've gotten used to Audis service.
Some Acura dealers will perform your first oil change for free. Call your dealer and ask them if they will give you a complimentary oil change.
If you want to do it elsewhere, that's fine too. But you'll definitely have to pay for it though.....
Just make sure that you keep your reciept for your records and that they use the correct oil for your car.
As for maintenance schedules-- If you want to keep your warranty intact, you should definitely follow the manufacturers maintenance schedule. Otherwise, they MIGHT deny a warranty claim in the future.

Typically most dealers will offer the first service for free. Our dealer will give you your first service for free at 3500 miles. You should ideally wait till you have about 3500 miles or 3 to 6 months before you get your first oil change.Jens
