Strong Demand for TSX Sports Sedan Continues
Torrance, Calif. 06/03/2003 -- May sales of Acura vehicles totaled 16,495, setting a new all-time monthly record besting the previous mark of 16,333 units set in August 2002, and surpassing last May's total of 16,229.
Strong demand for the all-new 2004 TSX sports sedan pushed sales to 2,275 units for the month. "It looks like we've hit the mark with the new TSX sports sedan," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president, sales. "If initial demand is any indication, customers are drawn to the vehicle's sporty performance and class-leading feature content."
MDX sales of 5,089 units during May pushed Acura year-to-date light truck sales to 23,021 up 3.9 percent compared to last year. Acura division automobile sales totaled 11,406 with sales of the TL reaching 4,883 and RSX sales totaling 2,815 for the month. May sales of the Acura NSX supercar were more than double that of the previous year.

That's great news for Acura!!! I hope their good fortune continues. After four of them, I must say I would definitely recommend the marque to anyone who wants a solid car at a more reasonable price than the rest of the high end Japanese makers.

I love the NSX but had to laugh that sales more than doubled, as that means they sold 4 instead of 2 or whatever. Don't get me wrong, I wish I owned one! Otherwise way to go Acura!

I've had my eye on NSXs for a while... hopefully when my company goes public I'll be able to afford one... Oh yes... and don't you just love that DOHC 24Valve 3.2ltr V6 motor... with an 8k redline...

I'd say that most of us six-speeders are set up perfectly with Acura rotation of their line. Just as we're getting bored of our beast in a few years the next generation coupe will be waiting for us.

Of course they are - they aren't being made anymore so the only ones being sold are the ones left on dealers' lots. So clearly the sales HAVE to decline further every month as there are less available to sell.
I know our dealership broke its record from last May by several units for each vehicle type and overall units. The GM took us all out to dinner.

Hmmm.... I see plenty of stock on the dealer lots. The new Accord Coupe V6 is selling well and from what I understand, there is a waiting list for 60 days. A girl in my office had her Integra stolen from the Sheratons in the Meadowlands and she has to wait until July to get a Black 6SPD Accord Coupe.

Uhh, it's a new car. 95% of new cars sell well. It's only 25k. They sell 25k just about everything nowadays. It's the average price of a new car.
Honda was smart, badged it an Acura and have women buy the hell outta it.
No one is really surprised it will sell, to most people it's a 25k Acura.
