Acura rumors from the dealer
Just a couple of tidbits I picked up yesterday while talking to my salesman.
1. The integra is slated for June release with Type R 6 months from then.
2. RL is continuing on with only minor changes for time being and then apparently an all new V8 flagship will be introduced, not called the RL.
3. And, most interesting to me, my salesman told me that the only reason Acura chose to put the Michelin's on our car was b/c they were the cheapest tire that Acura could get in bulk-probably b/c they are that weird size and nobody uses them.
------------------
Black/black CL Type S Comptech springs, headers. Soon to have Konis and Comptech sway bars. PIAA 19169, Solaris high beams. Potenza RE730's 225/45/ZR17
...And I wonder where my money goes!

I'll be surprised if the Type R comes out only 6 months after the release of the Base RS-X (or GSR equivalent)...
They always wait a few years, and let the generation half die, then release the top model. Dumbasses...
Civic Si in 1999, after the generation was introduced in 1996. The Integra Type R, in 1997 after it had been on the streets since 1994. Hell even Bimmer does it, look at the M5... The current 5 series is closing in on the end of its lifespan, and the M5's are STILL pretty rare. The 3 series has been around since 1999 and they still haven't released the M3. This is the stupidest marketing trend I've heard. Its such bullshit.

i have personal connections in a dealer and they have no clue, they find out the same time the rest of the public does. Acura is a very hush hush corporation and would be very surprised to see type 6 months later

Michelin MXV4's are great tires though. They are used on BMW's, Mercedes, almost all Acura's..many more. They aren't exactly cheap either..considering that these are the stock tires, the ones that were on the 1st gen CL's cost from 130-150 each. For me, that is expensive for rubber!

One of my best friends works @ Michelin (US headquarters right here in G'ville). The V4's aren't bad tires for their intended purpose: to be cheap for the manufacturer as original equipment, have long tread life, get good gas mileage and not be too noisy on the interstate. As pointed out, from a performance standpoint, they suck. Obviously, Pilots are going to be MUCH higher performance tires.
My personal recomendation is what I re-shod the Pony with last month - Yokohoma AVS Intermediates. EXCELLENT performance tires and a relative bargin at $160/per!

I used to be disgusted, but now I try to be amused.....
