Acura Performance

Ok, Ford has SVT, Mazda has their new MazdaSpeed, and Dodge now has SRT...what are the chances of Honda/Acura creating their own in-house tuner? For a company with a legacy of quick cars they get 0wnzed by their performance competition. SVT Focus and SRT-4 are faster and more acclaimed than the Civic Si. And I'm sure the MazdaSpeed Protegé will be faster too. Acura/Honda has nothing that can compete with the Cobra in performance/price arena. Is it too much to ask for a CL "Type R" with a sub 5sec 0-60?

Do I have a valid point or am I way off my rocker? Put me in my place guys.

well they have the NSX

all honda/acura needs to do is start to spend a little bit more money and loosen up and release a vehicle that has RWD/AWD 3.5l v6 350 hp 320-350 lbs torque with a 38k price tag fully loaded

then they will be gods

Honda/Acura wants to move into the billion dollar aftermarket industry starting last year. I think they testing the waters before they decided to fully jump in. If you read tuner mags and watch commericals, honda is pushing their oem accessories...most noticably on the new civic...the ads always have accessory rims, body kit, spolier..etc.

But Honda seems to be the more conservative when it comes to aftermarket performance...you have to consider the "Warrenty" issue. They don't want to start selling parts that people can buy, and "Try" to install themselves...and if they screw up...most likely they're gonna bring it to the dealers.

Comptech and Honda is different from Mazda and Mazdaspeed. Mazdaspeed is a reconized division of Mazda. Comptech specializes in making aftermarket parts for hondas. Most dealers will reconize that comptech is quality performance parts that have been carefullly designed, tested, and approved and will honor them at their dealership.
