Well I pulled the code today and found it was:
P0753 Shift Solenid A Circuit Fault

Just sounds like a bad electric connection and nothing too serious but I guess you never know.

Starting my trolling for info on this

Are you sure it was not "P1753 TCM A/T Lockup Solenoid Valve "A" Fault"

positive it was the P0753

a "1" and "0" are easily distinguishable on a digital screen.

same f@cking description, still solenoid "A", the P1753 just happens to mention what it's job is, compared to the generic version

I had the first Sundance gold type S sold in BC possibly Canada and I loved that car. I never had a problem with the transmission nor did the guy from work who bought it from my Acura dealer. I think it had 125,000 km's on it when he traded it, just lucky I guess. No doubt that colour was an eye catcher and stood out from the crowd at the time. Nice find and good luck with it.

Wow, so apparently it was the wiring unraveling from the connection to the solenoid that caused the code to appear...effin' wiring!

the auto trans keeps marching on!

p.s.

I STRONGLY recommend that everyone replace their cabin air filters asap. My housing was filled with leaves, dust dead flies, dead spiders and just a whole bunch of nasty-ness

explain what you mean by "unraveling". im having the same problem with the tcc solenoid and its very intermittent and random so i know its electrical. i just installed my trans about 3 weeks ago too so i know its something to do with the connection. if you can explain how yours was coming apart id b thankful

I wasn't able to actually see it but it was described by my mechanic as the wires were getting old and the wires going to the solenoid on the outside of the transmission were pulling away from their connection. He said there was another wire that looked 'old' too and replaced it but didn't say where. I wasn't going to complain if it saved me from purchasing a transmission and cost me nothing.

did you reset the ecu after you replaced the solenoid? It may just be some type of wiring issue too, dont give up! If you have any transmission shop local that youve dealt with bring it by there and have them take a look too as a second set of eyes

awesome! I bet half the dead auto transmissions were just faulty wiring connections

On a different note:

Just spent 8hrs on my suspension today. Swapped in KYB AGX struts w/ H&R Sport Springs. I will be ordering a Progress RSB tomorrow because right now I have the RSB disconnected from having to remove the endlink to swap in the suspension. Replacing endlinks with Moog as well. Also got some new wheels, Ti17 in 18x8 et40

Will get pictures up soon as to how the car sits now.

The wheels on the car when I bought it are some type of O.Z. Racing wheels. Looked like a winter wheel/tire combo from Tirerack.com

Here are some updated pics of the car as it sits today. Lowered on KYB AGX adjustable shocks and H&R Sport Springs. 18x8in +40 Ti17 wheels and 20% tint all around.

I am experiencing rubbing of the wheel against the spring for some reason even though it is a high offset wheel. I am picking up some F&F Type 1 Coilovers this coming week to try and get rid of the rubbing problem. Also having my Progress RSB delivered friday hopefully.

Were they able to tint the top strip on your rear window? I took mine to get it tinted and they said that they couldn't tint over the dots, and couldn't sand the dots off because that is where our antenna is..
