Acura Extended warrantee

How much should I expect to pay or anyone know of where I can get a good deal? I went to PAA and they want about 1,500 for a 7 year/ 100k miles plan 0% deductable, I know I can do better than this. I do preffer to get it from PAA though but that price was just bananas.

Comparison shop online at http://www.curryacuracare.com and http://acuraofmissionviejo.com/acura...d-warranty.asp

A number of us found their no-haggle online rates competitive.

hmmmm

So acura extends the tranny to 100K free of charge and you pay over a thousand on the chance something is going to break on the car aside from the tranny in a 50,000 miles...

Hmmm well I would say to not bother with the warranty if that means you have to fork over 1500 bucks. The engine should run to 100K without any issues unless you have abused it. The rest of the car should be ok. I am not sure about other people on here, but one reason I bought a japanese car was the quality. I have never bought extended warranties and have done fine. Even my 91 camry LE v6 did not have a problem until 135,000 when the horns were not working properly from all the road salt we have in new england. 90 bucks to replace them. Then there was the wheel bearings at 140K which were 600. The extended warranty would have been like 900. The muffler died at 160,000.

If you get it at Curry Acuracare, it is about $1350. And they're giving you an additional $100 off. It's $1260 at Acura of Mission.

Do a search, I think there is a dealership in MD that was also pretty cheep. Someone mentioned it a couple months ago.

How many miles do you have on your car. I've got another month or 2 before I have to buy one. Don't get it from PAA.

Thanks fellas for the great info, I thought I had to get the warrantee where I bought the car or where I am going to be servicing it.
Mickey yea your have a point, but you never know, better safe then sorry, since I bought this car PAA has had to repair several things like bearings warped rotors, srs light that came on motor mounts that were bad and even small things like a steering wheel collar, if I had to pay for all of this, I would have dumped this damn thing already at 90 bucks an hour for labor, wewfff...
Ravi, she just hit 40k getting ready that way I don’t have to deal with it later.

Man, take your time. 10K miles, that gives you a couple months. Plus I think they give you til 56K to sign up.

Yes, but.....The price goes up at 24,000 and 36,000 miles, so if you’re keeping the car buy the warranty before you hit 24K.
Plus prices are always increasing anyway.

PS…. I got mine at Curry like several others here posted.

save your money. Even at $1k, it ain't worth it. So what is somehing breaks. Use the $1-2K you would have spent on the warranty and fix it. You'll still be ahead. I paid $1K for mine when I bought my car cause of the tranny issue. Now with the extended warranty and esp if you have no Nav, you are good as gold!!!

I paid about $1100 for my warranty when the CL-S was new. Dealer agreed (in writing) to refund the money if I never used the warranty. Aside from a pair of trannies, nothing major went wrong until ... updated the Navi disc and the Navi display started getting squirrely (just ignored that), then prior to selling the car ... broken motor mount and they replaced the "sticking" throttle body. I agree that it is really a crap shoot and you're probably better off just saving the money for the repairs ... if they are needed. JMHO

Sure 1500-2000 sounds like a waste, but I only paid 850 for my 7YR-75,000 Mile plan with ZERO deductible.
That can easily be eaten up with ONE major repair.
I only drive 9-10K a year so I didn’t get a 100K plan.
I got it for piece of mind and possible resale value.
If I sell privately with 60K and a year left on the plan it gives the buyer a year’s worth of warranty protection.
