I took my car in a couple of weeks ago because my gas pedal was getting stuck when trying to accelerate. You had to hit it pretty hard for the car to start moving from a dead stop. I took it in and the Service Rep asked me what the problem was and when did it start and all the normal crap they ask you. He said that it should take about an hour so I said okay I'll wait an hour. So an hour goes by and comes and asks me what the problem was again!!! And I almost lost it becuase he said that they we unable to reproduce the problem so I told him that he better take another look because if I leave and the car is still messed up I will send him a bill for $95 an hour because that is what I charge to do what I do. He said that they will take another look. So after 2.5 hours he comes back and says that they noticed it the second time and that they will have to keep the car overnight and he also said they noticed that the Air Filter Box was cracked at the base and needed to be replaced. He said that they should have the part in by tomorrow and my car will be ready the next day.
So they set me up with a piece of sh_t Saturn and he said that he will call me. Of course he never called and I decided to call him. He obviously was not in when I called so I left him a message and he called me back a couple of hours later and said that the part wasn't in yet and they would need the car another day. So finally after 3 days he said that the part is on back order and they will contact me when it comes in.
I get a card in the mail that my part is in. I make an appointment for today and 11:00 AM and when I get there I ask the guy how long will it take and he said at least 4 hours so I told him that I needed a loaner car like I usually get. Then he says that he doesn't have a loaner and that I would have to come back on Tuesday. Can you believe this shit guys??? I paid $33,000 for this car and I can't even get decenet service. What a crock of shit. I also called in earlier today to make sure the part was in and the Service Rep put me on hold for 15 minutes so I hung up.
I am really getting fed up with Acura. I wish I never bought this piece of shit. I should have bought a Lexus. I will never buy another Acura or refer a friend to get one. They are really crappy when it comes to service. I am really pissed right now. I should just sell my car and buy a Lexus. If I do sell it I would lose a lot of money though so I think I will have to wait a couple more years.

Not the best way to handle the problem, but do you honestly think no one has ever had a problem at LEXUS?

If you were told the process would have only taken an hour and you waste 2.5 hours of your time and then drive a Saturn for 3 days and then go back 2 weeks later once the part comes in and then find out that they don't have a loaner.
At least Lexus would get you a loaner immediatley and they would give you a Lexus.
I am just not satisfied with the quality and the workman ship of Acura, and to top it off my dealer is always giving me a run around.

Even with all this, they tell me it will take a day or so to finish... Imagine my 15kmiles service (plus some warrentty work) took 5 days and I was drivin a non-Acura loaner...

At my dealer you ALWAYS have to schedule a loaner at least a week ahead.
If I get a card in the mail that a part has arrived, I call and schedule the service and they arrange to have a car for me.
If I just showed up I wouldn’t expect them to hand me the keys to an Acura off the lot.
I understand your frustration, but it seems your expectations are a bit high.

Hey guys ! I can relate to this victim, because they screwed me the exact way ! In fact, they ordered the same part and put me throught the same shit ! THEY ARE HORRIBLE, TWO FACED, OLD BOY NETWORK and I WILL DO EVERYTHING TO SEND A MESSAGE HOW BAD THEY ARE !

My Expectations are not High
They are just reasonable. If Acura wants to be known as a luxury car company then they better start acting like it. I received better service from Nissan with my old Altima.
I can understand if the car was only $15,000 but when you pay $33,000 for a luxury coupe you better take care of your customers otherwise they won't give you any referrals.
I don't even want another Acura to drive just give me back that piece of shit Saturn so I can run my errands instead of having to come back next week for the same thing.

Naw Lexus may give ya a hassle but hardly. And they fix the problem. Right now I am chilling in a new RX 300 loaner with 9400 miles straight pimping it. I tell em take their time with my car and they do. This is day 2 in the loaner. ALways a Lexus, either ES or RX though they have IS loaners.
Best story. My bud ordered a 2002 GS 430 last April. His lease went up in May. When his car did not come in, the dealer gave him a 00 LS 400 FOR 3 MONTHS (that is how long it took to get the GS 430)
He had NO NOTE for 3 MONTHS rocking a LS 4
So yeah shit happened to him, but he was taken care off.

Sorry to tell you, but once a product is sold, you normally have to make your own way. Any dealer will only hold your hand before you buy. Once you buy, you are in a different category.
After you purchase a vehicle, you are no longer making them money, you are consting the dealer since you are under warranty.
As long as you know where you stand...

Regardless of where you purchase your car, you will always end up at the same place. All dealers are different, maybe you just need to find one that will treat you a little better.
I recommend you call Acura Service Center (their number is in your manual) and place a formal complaint. They should at least address the situation.

not all acura dealerships are the same....in my case the pleasaton acura is excellent .......for my 15k service....got a TL for loaner

ACURA OF CONCORD did NOT get the 2000 Precision Award, that is whay I left them high and dry, besides, their horrible and bunch of old boy network guys ! Ever see that crystalled out lady runing in and out with that 1980's clip board screaming at the rep's.......that was it ! So far, Acura of Pleasanton has been good, not perfect, but good.......Now you want to talk about a top notch dealership, go to Concord Honda, they ROCK ! Ask for Keith Ketchum the service manager, he is one of the best !
