Exclamation Acura CL owners PLEASE HELP!!!! ;-)

ATTENTION ALLLLLLLLL ACURA CL OWNERS!

My name is Wally and I totalled my 1998 Acura 3.0CL in Arkansas Feb. 1st, 2008. I'll talk about the wreck and post pics of car and injuries later! I need help! I loved my 98 Acura CL and I am plan on flying into Houston, TX to buy an 2003 Acura CL. YOU CAN SEE PICS OF IT ON EBAY via this link--->http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TODAY.m238.lVI

I agreed on paying 10,995 USDollars for it, is that a fair price? Kelly's Blue Book stats almost 14,000 USDollars. Another question would be about the TRANSMISSION! I see there has been a recall and also a lawsuit concerning the tranny! Please look at the listing by the link I provided above and there are detailed pictures! It seems like a steal to me because 77k isn't that much for Acura! My last one was @ 160k then I had to hit a tree and break my leg, but thats besides the point! lol

I would love to hear for everyone ALL OPINIONS are welcome!!
I contacted Acura's 800# and they told me if I buy it, to register it with then online and that will quailify the 03 CL up to 93 months/109,000k miles extended warranty!

HELPPPPPPPPPP!! NEED OPINIONS A.S.A.P!!!!!!!!

Wally

Get a type S. No reason to buy a CLP when a type S can be had for close to the same $.

Man how fast were you going!? How did you hit the tree lol.

I would vote get a type S like everyone else said. Doesn't need to be the 6 speed. But just gettin' a type S for the same price, why not!

Get a six speed manual or only a Type-S. Once you learn the manual you will never go back. It is so much better. You never know when the auto trany is going to die. Do a simple search and you will get MANY threads about how random and often they do die. The auto trans CL is a car I would never consider buying. I love my 2003 CLS 6MT. It is black and beautiful!

I was going about 45-50MPH ...... a deer ran out infront of me cause me to kill it and I completely lost control and when into a very deep ditch with trees!

OK PEOPLE!! NEED SOME MORE HELP!!
Ok this link shows you the car I am trying to get off eBay.....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TODAY.m238.lVI

The dealership is called "Memorial Auto Central"
website is http://www.memorialautocentral.com
The owner is "Adam" AKA Ararat Karoglanian

Well I typed his name in Google and this is what came up!!!! I FREAKED OUT!
http://ripoffreport.com/reports/0/205/RipOff0205523.htm

The link above is where consumers post RIP OFF REPORTS and this is his dealership and it reveals his criminal background and everything about the deal that when wrong!!

But on the other side his feedback on eBay is positiive... maybe that was a one time thing? IDK ..... investigate and let me know what you think!

EVERYONE TELLING ME TO GET A TYPE-S and MANUAL TRANNY... but will it be more than the $10,995 he is asking?! Plus is you investigate the links I posted above.... this guy seems a little fishy... I am sooooooooooooooooooooo CONFUSED!! HELP!

I have to question with the fact that the RPM gauge is at 1500RPM and clearly there is no one with their foot on the gas. 1200RPM would be acceptable at start up at most.

That CL-P is no steal. Take a look around elsewhere, possibly closer to you. Check out Autotrader and even local Acura/Honda dealerships. If I were looking into getting a CL with what I know about the auto trannys (wish I knew at the time of purchase), I wouldn't think twice about getting the 6speed.

soooo what is your opinion overall...... for $10,995 USDollars THUMBS UP , DOWN, OR SO-SO? I see the mats aren't the original ones, and I also noted the RPM's starting up at 1500 , which seems odd because my moms acura starts up at just 1000 ...... also Carfax reveals 3 owners, it was sold as a CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) twice.... it passed emissions and safety inspection @ 10/40000/45000/47000/58000/67000 and also it shows car offered for sale, then it was sold at an auction in Texas as a daler vehicle @ 77,014 miles.
Looks like I will be cancelling my flight to go pick this CL up..... Can anyone out there someone support me getting it or is alllllllll thumbs down.... cause I would HATE to regret getting it! And I'll try to look on AutoTrade.... but my budget is max. $11,400 (fees included) (tax not included)..... maybe you helpful CL owners can help?

well i know a few at around that price but is a 6mt, on craigslist down here or near San Jose Ca. You can have it shipped for about 800. i would say look around first dont settle with the auto. thats why i had 2 tl's and now a 6 speed cl it picks up faster and doesnt slip like the auto. trust me you wont regret getting a 6 speed. And a plus is its that rare so if you keep it right it'll soon to be a classic. Only made in 03.

Take a look around autotrader. I noticed over on the side you stated your from Arkansas, but not sure what part. Here is a search of CLs in a 500 mile radius of Little Rock which are all listed within your budget (11,400), one of which might catch your attention and may be a little closer than flying to Houston to purchase a car w/o knowing if you like it or not.

The gold is really tacky and it's not even a Type S. As the others have said, look around for a better CL Type S or 6 speed.

Everyone---- thanks for all your input.... BUTTTTTTTT.... I flew to houston today and bought the 2003 acura cl , drove it 7 hours back not one problem..... plus he gave me 5 year warrenty on the dealership..... $100 in gas via pre-paid visa card..... anddddddd..... he fully detailed it..... The salesman and owner was extremely helpful!! I'll post pics of it ... IT LOOKS 100X better in real life and the pics on eBay are kinda dull..... most likely a bad digial cam.... also... i called the ACURA dealership and they told me if i had any problem at all whatsoever with the tranny then they would replace it for o$'s yea FREE and FREE rental 08 TL... only paid 10,995 for the car...... not so bad.... ;-) lets hope i have no problems with it!! ;-) again thanks for all you input!!

I got my 2001 Acura CLS for $6500. Clean Title @ 100k miles. New Tranny and belts.

Got it from a 70 year old guy who cosigned the car for his nephew who started to default on the payments so he had to buy it. He asked for 12k but I nickle and dime'd his ass for 6.5k.

Plenty of good deals out there. Be patient and it'll pay off.
