so my buddy at work wants to race me. hes got a 2006 Civic Si 2.8 I4 with manual tranny with limited slip. Ive got CL 3.0 v6. who do you think will win?

 

The Civic Si is a 2.0 litre engine, but I believe he should be able to win that race if he is a decent driver.

 

He will win that race. Better gearing, nearly identical power, lighter car.

 

Grab yourself a nitrous kit off your local craigslist for a few hundred and bust his ass.
Don't tell him you got it.

 

Might as well look for a new transmission on Craigslist while youre at it.

i know she's a dead post but im high and bord so for the ligitimit record:
when i purchased my cl 3.0 and had done nothing but a complete fliud change i raced my buddies stock 2008 civic manual (not si) with 4000km's on it.
we had 2 full out races:
(1st) i got him off the line, all of first (the shortes gear on earth, lol) with his front bumper at my back bumper, 2nd gear he started to slowly pull up (the 4cyl's rev), so his front bumper was at my passenger door, 3rd gear we were even any in forth gear he started to pull away, with no more gears and had just went into 5th and at like 180km's my front bumper was at his back bumper.
(2nd race) almost identical but i drove the piss out of the cl and at 180km's my front bumper was at his back wheel,... maaaaaby a little further.
i havent raced him or any civic's since ive done stuffs to the cl... we just never line up, i always get muscle cars of trucks here, lol.
this should be a good base for stock cl 3.0's vs. stock civic's (none si)
i will never lie about racing cause i love all cars even the ghetto rides.

 

Civics and the fact that I can't drive an 1/8th of a mile around here without seeing one annoy the crap outta me. Take it how you want!

where i live they are chick cars (thats just a fact based on actual numbers in my neck 'o' tha woods) so i like the drivers. if done right i like civic's but not fucked up bagged stockers with a can muffler and S.R.I. that are driven buy people that think they are ludacris in 2 fast 2 furious.

 

I'm not a fan of anything that is too common and the Civic (although a great car) is one of those things. Definately a 50/50 shot it's either a dude or a hot chick driving one as I too think it's a chick car along with those Scion tc's.

 

you could probably take him out from a rolling start. my car hauls when i punch it from second gear and even more in the third gear. he'll take you from a zero mph start, but it could be more interesting from a rolling start. 98 ACURA CL 3.0
