Acura AWD

I've been reading a lot about people complaining about FWD and what not... but Wouldn't an AWD version of the CL or TL be even slower than the current FWD set up? There's gonna be more loss in HP no matter what if you go with AWD. AWD adds weight and more tire traction. The only way for AWD to help the current Cl/Tl platform is to get a horsepower bump up of at least 20, that way it'll probably be running the same times as the current model. If AWD was added, the cl/tl would handle freaking nice but if AWD was added, the price of the acuras will go UP dramatically. I think that honda doesn't have the balls to put in AWD and more HP. HONDA thinks economically and thus will always have its prices low to compete with other companies. ALso, does acura even have an AWD platform to build on? some people are saying the 2004 TLs will be getting it. I wouldn't be suprised if it was true that the price of the TL will be something around 33k type-s w/o navi

MDX is AWD.

AWD might make the TL faster off the line because without VSA you can't do a full launch without squeeling tires.

Yeah, the MDX/Pilot uses the VTM-4 system. Which I have been hearing great things about. And the rumor is, it adds very little weight.
I would love to see it added to the TL/CL but I'm not holding my breather...wait and see, man...wait and see.

What about '04 CLS/TLS there was a rumor that the car would be AWD and a bump in power.

I'm a dummy on Honda's AWD technology. Honda has a proprietary light-weight system, or there's a *type* of AWD system out there, VTM-4, that people are using???

VTM-4 is honda's proprietary AWD that's used on the MDX first and now on the Honda piolt and euro accord in japan , soon to be TSX.

Not to mention that the TL/CL is most likely gonna get a bump in HP anyway since the new accord did.

The euro Accord is AWD? Does that mean the TSX will also be AWD?

I'd take AWD over RWD any day.

Three people piss on the road and RWD becomes useless.

Sorry Joe, you can forget RWD. Acura would alienate too much of their demographic by going RWD.

On AWD why not have another button with disable VSA and call it disable FWD...

AWD sure will improve traction and handling. And I think AWD will be the trend in future automobiles.

Yeah, all the guys who live in the snow belt could really use AWD in the winter. You could even buy snow tires too.

OMG

Have u guys realized that if acura is to add AWD or RWD and bump the HP the price is going to increase like mad ???

Honda/Acura only care about how their sales are.... if the price goes up, sales will decrease. It's just logically

What would one think the price might be if, say the '01 w/navi were $30K?
