Actual Racing
I was just curious if anyone here follows actual racing like American Le Mans, SCCA, not really Nascar but I guess I will include that too. But mainly road racing. I for one am really into SCCA and ALMS because I have ties to both the Cadillac CTS-VR and Corvette Racing teams. I guess I just want to know if anyone else cares about real racing instead of just racing on your own.

ALMS
Too bad I rarely get to see the races here.
Also F1, and I always hold out hope that IRL will return to it's senses and work some real racing into their schedule, but Tony George keeps stomping that out.

I'm not real big into the Daytona Prototypes, but I have met him before at the 2001 Rolex 24 hours of Daytona. The vettes actually won that race too. Standing in victory lane at Daytona is an amazing feeling. I know a lot of other drivers though. Ive met Dale Sr (before he died) and Dale Jr, Ron Fellows, Andy Pilgrim, Frank Freon, Olivier Beretta, Johnny Oconnel, Max Papis, and too many more to name. But anyone that follows ALMS, I can honestly tell you that you will not be disappointed by the C6R. I was at Gingerman when they were testing it... it was amazing. I will be at Sebring and hopefully Atlanta, Mid Ohio, Infineon, and Lime Rock because the Caddy's are gonna take the audi's next year.

I have a lot of links with SCCA people. Like the guy who won A-Stock national championship Autocross (solo2) is from Ohio Valley region so i've rode with him in his Z06.(which is crazy fast). I know some local dirt track guys. (those guys are crazy lots of horsepower for that tiny of a car)

I love the ALMS. I try to keep up with it as much as I can but I always lose track of when the races are aired or held. I miss watching the BTCC (British Touring Car Championship)....this was back when it was SpeedVISION. Still pissed about Nascar taking over the channel. It was nice seeing the Lamborghini in the ALMS out there racing around, but sucked when I heard about them quitting after just one year.

Yeah, the lambos had a good car and a good driver in Kox, they just had 2 things that needed to be changed: Their pit crew and their luck. At Mid Ohio they lost a hood that flew over the fence, then a tire went down, then they broke their rear or front suspension, i dont remember which. It was just a series of unfortunate events. I would love to see them there next year with a better team to take on my vettes, the saleens, and the new db9 team.

Damn, I didn't know Aston Martin was joining. Nice. Yeah, I'd like to see them give the Vettes and Saleens competition, but I think I'd still like the vettes to pull a victory out by a slight margin.
