Ack got the club...or brick, or pipe, idk.

Some worthless uncaring, selfish, idiotic bastard and probably his friend had their way with my baby last night. It was a pretty crappy feeling this morning.

Man I feel for you. I could not imagine how enraged I would feel if that happed to my car. From the pics it looks like just the window was broken into. Did they take anything / do any more damage to the car?

sad thing is, you'll never find out who did it....but im with you bro, i'd be heated...u know it's probably some little 15-16 year old kids who have no appreciation for a car...im sure your insurance will cover it tho...did they steal anything?

Thanks for the words guys, i appreciate it.

it happened overnight so no chance of seeing who did it. I have no deductible on glass luckily, but the window frame is a little bent and they stole like almost $400 worth of stuff - radar detector, GPS (not even on the dash at the time, they got it out of the console) and some other stuff.

Any advice on the best way to cover the window until I can get it fixed without resorting to putting duct tape on my paint to hold a bag on?

i say they're some stupid as theives... so they only knew that you had a radar detector which isn't worth that much.. the navi was stored in the glove dept... so this "hit" wasn't worth much then...

i mean if u're going to break into a car to steal stuf at least pick one with more equipment...

sorry for ur loss... some people reported insurance covering items (mods) added to the car *shrugs*

wow i'd be super pissed. they were definitely amateurs taking such BS items. If the were smart they'd notice the Injen sticker and steal ur intake too. Wish u could find them, i think all thieves should die a painful death by quartering like in Braveheart.

Yeah my thoughts exactly...can't believe they broke it just to take the $40 radar detector on the dash. Learned my lesson though never leaving anything in my car again. Hope they burn in hell.

Shit man this sucks, sorry to hear about your troubles. I would suggest maybe trying painters tape since it can easily be removed from your paint without any ill effects. just my

good call on the painter's tape, I didn't consider that. Should only be over the weekend till it get's fixed so that should be good enough...hopefully it will hold on the 500 mile drive to Chicago I have planned for this weekend.

And yeah I can't believe the CL doesn't come with shock sensors. Definitely going to pick that up - next mod.

They must've known you had those items in the vehicle otherwise they wouldn't have touched your car. Could've been someone in your area that's seen you get in/out of your car.

Lock the glove box from now on.

I dono, maybe but my CL is the "nicest" car in the lot save for a new stock benz, and definitely the most eye-catching (even though it's black...) so that might have done it right there. But yeah locking the box, shock sensors, and not leaving anything in the car is now standard practice. Maybe a shark with a freakin laser beam on his head lounging in my back seat too while I'm not with the car.

I always leave my glove box locked, the rear drunk passage locked, and the master switch for my trunk locked. Just in case they pry my glove box open, witch happend to my girlfriend. So I keep everything locked up. Just to be safe

Always great to walk out and see your car window smashed in in the morning, gotta love that sound when you close the door. THey didn't take a thing, lol, jokes on them, there wasn't a damn thing in the car, they left my crappy sunglasses though assholes, i think they were just vandals. A year later the entire car was stolen from that same spot, jokes on me i guess. Still waiting for the first vandal to do something to my CL, i know it's not a matter of IF, but WHEN. Theres just too many bratty/spoiled-wanna-be-thuggish-nothing-better-to-do punks in my neighborhood. I cant wait till i catch one in the act, i'm gonna march that little bastard straight to his parrents house and show them what their honor roll student did.

Yeah, I might do that...or introduce his face to my wheel (wouldn't want to dent a body panel...wheel is much stronger!).

Sucks to see those pics too - at least the bastard who did mine had the decency to break the passenger glass so I could drive the thing to a gas station vacuum without sitting on glass.

yeah, but if it's one of these little punks, i'm not gonna get charged for assaulting a minor and risk getting sued/jail time, but i WILL be compensated nicely by his parents. (or they'll wake up to a few or ten rocks flying through their biggest windows a few months down the line)

Thanks I appreciate it, but insurance is doing it for free...and even if that means my premium goes up a few bucks this year I need to get it done asap. I can't drive around with plastic on my window much longer it's killing me. New window goes in on monday.

BTW - I discovered a great method to cover the window in case this happens to anyone else - Home Depot sells this kind of plastic wrap on a stick (1000 ft x like 6 inches) for like 10 bucks. I basically triple-wrapped my whole door top to bottom and once horizontally around the window, making sure I ran the last layer back to front so it would flow with the wind going down the door...end result is no duct tape on the car. 2 minutes after I wrapped it we got a Minneapolis thunder storm. As I sat in the car (not wanting to drive cause of the flooding+CAI) not one drop came through the window covering. I'll post pics and part # for the wrap soon.

I just looked at the pics I took again...it's kind of funny how they grabbed the $30 radar detector but left the $80 Ray Bans laying next to the shifter. Guess thats a bonus lol.

Trunk Master switch

Open glove box and on the left you'll see a switch. Push it down. Unless someone has told you already.

Thats rediculous, I feel kind of lucky now because I just leave everything out in my car. I should probably start to put stuff up, or just take it out.

Oh also...
