On your black key its located underneath the plastic, you have to cut the plastic in half to get it out.

Here ya go: A full DIY writeup for you from a bud of mine at club RSX.

Scroll back a few pages to find more direct pics but you get the idea.

Edit, AZine is being gay and not letting me post up links...but go to google, type in TL switchblade key, click on the second link from the top bringing you to Club RSX, go to page 43.

=)

You have to modify the link a bit because most forums discourage links posted to "rival" forums.

BTW...

Blackberry picture time!!

I got a spare made at a hardware store just to test if the transponder will work outside of the original key

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVQ3tGkphTc
Then i took a small hacksaw and started cuting the plastic in half. I used a magnet to locate the Transponder on what side of the key it was closest to so i wouldnt cut through it. On my key, the magnet picked it up on the side that has "T5" engraved on it, so i cut the other side

The back side should pop off with some elbow grease. The transponder is right in the middle. Its covered in rubber...........sorry for the pics

Trim around it until you have as little plastic as possible.

Transpoder with the copy of the original key

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6tV5BkPksw

Now i have to wait until the key i ordered arrives to continue....

Im hoping the end product looks like this:

found those pics while searching on

^Maybe but I don't know. I get confused with all that FCC #'s not being compatible. But I'm pretty sure I can get the Accord key to work with my CL

The switchblade key IS possible..it's just a major PITA.

I don't think it will be programmable, Marcus from HeelToe says it won't be.

Why? No idea. Going to ask an Acura stealership around here to see if I can find anything out.

Either way, if you can find a new Accord key for this cheap..

Accord Key for $20-something dollars > Switchblade for a little over $170

Annnnd now we're waiting on you Anthracite

The FCC on the Accord matches the CL? Or are you going to try to swap the guts of the key fob into the Accord key?

I have a switchblade key sitting on my desk. Ive had it for a few months. Im trying to figure out a way to get it to work with the CL.

Eh, its an insanely good price, but like you, I'm not so tech savvy.

I'm interested to see what happens with the Accord key though.

Sorry to keep you guys waiting but after not receiving any info from the seller, I sent him an email.

His response was this.........

"Thanks you for your interest in this item. I am currently unable to ship it out."

He did refund my money so I did make another purchase I decided to go a different direction while some of you will probably prefer the accord key, others will like this surprise
