Accident last night :(

So i was parked at the bottom of my boys driveway and its long like 35 ft long but narrow. His parents backed up into my cl prob doing at least 25 mph and yeah just trying to brighten up my day by laughin it off. So how much do you think it will cost?

As you can see hood is retarded, bumper is gone and surprisingly the headlights were not damaged at all. I dont know whats wrong under the hood yet. i was driving last night and it was giving off a hissing sound a little bit. DAMN SUVs AHH

Hissing sound is probably your A/C leaking.

Someone backed into my bumper a few weeks ago. It's actually in the shop right now. It was a 2" long scrape on the top of the bumper, but it also kind of knocked the whole bumper loose, but needless to say it's costing his insurance a tad under $500. I'd estimate you're looking $1000+ on this. Oh, and lucky me gets an 06 Chevy Colbolt 4 sedan as a loaner. POS!!!

Just on the surface you need a hood, grille and a bumper. Parts, prep, paint and mount for just those will be about $1500 - $2000.

I would say the overall cost will be about $2000-$2500.

You can save them a couple bucks and get a carbon fiber hood.

I second the CF hood, especially on NBP.

Sorry, Ross, I'm definitely with Ravi on this one.

I bet the radiator and the support is gone....The A/C condensor looks gone as well. I bet the bottom of your headlights are cracked...

EDIT: All the lil tiny parts add up. The cost for my insurance to pay was well over $5500 dollars. The headlights and their setups are very costly. That's almost 2grand right there. I hope yours don't get scrapped.

If his car was any color other than Black or ABP, I would say hell no to a CF hood. I think it looks great with a black car.

I think it all depends on the clear coat they put on the CF hood. I'm sure the bigger name companies use better or more clear. Check eBay, there's a bunch of OEM style ones on there.

Cool How To Save A Ton Of Money On This

Don't take it to a typical auto-body shop. If there aren't any mechanical problems, then find someone you might know to fix it or somebody that does auto body work on the side.

I had a Legend that got into an accident. I took three estimates from various body shops around the Twin Cities, and I had a range from $4000-$6000 for repairs. My brother-in-law ended up buying the car from me and had a hobbyist fix it for $1500.

Not to stereotype, but around here there are a lot of Eastern-Europeans and Southeast Asians who run side shops where they'll fix it for a lot less than what these big body shops will. You'll have to ask around, because most of them aren't advertised.

Body shops arbitrarily charge you and if it's not that serious, someone competent who does this stuff on the side for cash could fix it for MUCH less than what any auto body would.

I think his friends parents are paying for it though, right? So if you had to pay for it yourself and didn't have a lot of extra money sitting around, then maybe that's the way to go, but if someone else it paying for it you might as well bring it to a professional to do it right the first time and not end up having to bring it somewhere else down the road because you're getting fading paint or bondo coming through. Just my

Well my boy gave me the option of a ok job if i wanted to sell it in a heartbeat and let the next owner deal with it. lol. or immaculate job, i dont know if i want to keep it or not it attracts a lot of cars, last month a jackass hit me on the driver rear panel and i had to suck that one up myself cuz the cop was a racist pig. we went to his family owned autobody shop and they quoted 1500 and their doing labor for free. thats 1000 on just parts and paint, and whatever little shit that might pop up as you guys stated probably ac condenser, radiator support and what not.

can someone help me find a website that sells cf hoods rather than the obvious andyautosports but they charge more than oem from factory.
