I could deal with something stiffer than stock. I was running four year old Neuspeed Sport springs before I sold the Integra. That was pretty rough already, so I'm not adverse to a jarring ride.
Well. Coilovers will give you some flexbility but if you ride low in the summers you'll need a camber correction kit. Comptech setup in nice. I just had it done and so far no complaints. I'd go with the Comptech since you live in da'burg. I know winters there can get harsh.
How many miles are on your car? How much do you drive a year?
With Comptech springs some people only see 20k out of the stock shocks. Maybe more. Comptech claims 50k.
If you drive a lot, get coilovers. Otherwise you'll be buying new shocks in 2 years. The cost of springs + shocks is more than coilovers.

I purhased the car in November 2001, but about 5,500 miles on it so far. Estimating 10,000 miles this year.
you make a good point about the longivity of the stock shocks.
Zapata: one of the main reasons I want to get the NEX's is so that I can adjust my ride height close to stock during the snowy winters.
