This A4 found out what a CL-S 6 speed can do on a cris

I'm not sure you can call it a race, but he sure found out what a CL-S 6 speed can do on a crisp fall morning. My other advantage was I had very little gas in the tank (gas light was on).

You’ve all been in this situation. I’m on a road approaching the entrance ramp to highway (about ½ mile ahead). Wouldn’t you know it, two large gravel trucks pull out of a gravel pit and travel about 10 miles an hour to the approaching ramp. At this point I’m pissed because I’ve gone from 50 mph down to 10 mph. Here’s where it gets good.

As we all turn into the entrance ramp, an A4 comes right up on my tail. Because these two gravel trucks are moving so slowly, this guy behind me is itching to get past them. There’s no way you can pass on the ramp so he’s right on my ass. I’m in 2nd gear doing about 15 mph as we come to the highway. A quick look in the rear view and no one in the outside lane behind for at least a ¼ mile.

This idiot behind me in the A4 tries to get to the outside lane before me as he travels over the brick between the ramp and highway. Not a chance. As soon as I saw the daylight (no one in the outside lane) I WOT'ed each gear shifting right before the rev limiter. He tried to stay with me but he kept loosing ground. I basically shut down around 90 (as I hit forth) and he had to have been 6 to 8 car lengths back. I’m not sure if he backed off after he realized it had no chance or not. I bet he’ll never try to outrun another 3.2 CL-S!

Most mods have been appearance and handling at this point. I’ll be putting Koni Yellows on in the spring to compliment the CT Springs.

About two years ago when I joined the board, I told myself I would not mod a $30K car. Guess what, I’m following the path many have here. Performance mod’s might be next on the list.

maybe so but once modded they should tear any non-spray or non-boost CLS a new one. There are plenty of the older ones (B5s) running 13s and a few in the 12s I believe. Oh and don't forget CLS=AV6 coupe (for the most part) and that ain't all bad either.

Good Kill Stejus.

What got me concerned was I didn’t know if it was a 1.8T or a 3.0. Based on the results, it had to have been the 1.8T (non modded, of course). I'm pretty sure i would have taken it even if it was the 3.0.

An Audi in the hands of Scalbert, I think there would be another ending.

Nice Kill. I hate it when the guy behind tries to jump the gun. Way to teach the boy some respect.

Good Kill Stejus.

Even modded 1.8T's are slow. You need at least stage 3 to hit mid 13's. I don't know how you can hit 12's with a 1.8T, S4 can achieve 12s.

I'm sure you could change out the turbo...$10k later in mods and you've gotta kick yourself for not just getting the used S4 in the first place.

Word. If all i cared was 1/4 then yes i would be kicking myself for not buying a used S4

Oh and stage 3 (340hp) is $5300 from APR, comes with software too. But there are other kits that are cheaper with almost the same gains for a B6.

But ill be one to admit a modded 1.8t isnt as fast as everyone assumes.
