This or that?

SUMITOMO HTR+ : 225/45ZR17 90W or FALKEN ZIEX ZE-912 : 225/45ZR17 94W XL

I put 37k on the falkens last year and they worked out well. Now its time for new. Both tires are 85 each in that size (discounttirezone.com If you know any better let me know).

Which ones will be the better all season tire?

Me too!!!

But, if you liked the Falkens, then go with them again. If it aint broke, dont fix it.

Look at the treadwear ratings though, since it seems you are concerned about longevity.

I need to buy tires within the next three days. Please speak up if you have any better experience with sites other than Tirerack.

Im still thinking the falkens or the somos but other considerations are:

Mich Pilot Sport A/S,
Bridgestone Potenza(re960as or other),
yoko S.4,
Good year Eagle GT.

Type it up if youve experienced any of those.

Thanks!

I am using Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S for summer tires and they're quite nice. Very quiet, good wear rating, very good dry and wet. However I can't push them as hard as I could push my Toyo Proxes 4. Proxes were louder, stuck better, wore a little uneven and do not last very long.

If you're not a crazy maniac, pushing corners every chance you get I suggest getting something like Michelin Pilot Exalto or other model. Michelin tires are also proven to be worry free (no uneven wear, no balancing issues etc).

I still say we need a forum discount. Someone should set it up. DiscountTireDirect.com (online site for Discount Tire) gives forums 10% of more off their online prices (which are already less then their in store prices) plus they have free shipping. I've ordered 5 sets of tires through them in the past couple years and always saved a couple hundred over what I could get elsewhere. Shit's free. Someone just needs to do it for the people here.

They'll match anyone else's prices and have free shipping (all my orders have shipped to me in less then 3 days in the past). I've gotten several pairs of street and track tires from them and 2 pairs of winter tires. One pair of winter tires I got from them I couldn't even get from my dad's cousin's shop which is a licenses Goodyear dealer and I saved over $150 vs the discounted price I could have gotten them from them at.

For right now, people can call Brandon @ 1-800-589-6789 Ext 1864 and tell him they want the CrossRoadForums.com discount but someone needs to just get it setup for this forum. They don't charge forums to do it so why no get it setup for everyone here.

That extension doesnt work. The guy I talked to said no such thing on a 10% discount. Id love to get the 10% though. So if you have a better extension # shoot it this way!

i have F1 GSD3 in the back, amazing dry and wet. AMAZING! sumitomo htrz3 up front, personally i think they arent that great. BUT considering your listed tire options, you dont seem to drive that hard. i had falkens f452 (think thats the letter) on my hatch w/ spray and they werent bad. both tires are softer than your though. as far as company wise, id say falken. sry i couldnt be much help =/
